The light in the rosy dining room makes everyone look good, but it's the outdoor deck with its Puget Sound view that draws giant crowds when the weather's right. Inside or out, the atmosphere is so lovely that even if the dressed-up Italian food isn't extraordinary, you probably won't mind.

Great food + great view = one amazing time.

I love this place. The food is amazing -- I'm not sure why everyone on here seems to think it is so-so. Maybe it's because I always get the risotto, which they make a different way depending on the season. I'm not into cabaret either. I come here on sunny weekends for an awesome brunch with a fantastic view. It's just a great place to relax, soak up some sun, and have a very pleasant meal.

Best place to be on summer night on the deck!

I love this place! The food is good but the real magic is in the ambiance! On any given night you will find a variety of unique entertainment, i.e., a trapeze artist above you while dining, silhouetted musicians on the adjoining deck at night, campy shows on stage, angelic soft opera from a woman at the top of the stairs or fortune tellers on a New Years Eve ... you never know what to expect and there is never a dull moment at the romantic Pink Door.

dissapointed first-timer

I recently sent Pink Door an email re: my experience; below is my email and their response. I will NEVER go there again. Apparently customers' opinion doesn't matter. I was just simply stating my dissapointment in the mis-info they gave me and not about the wait or the reservations.. it was about the show that I wanted to see. I guess they don't need a good paying customer like me dining at they restaurant.

**MY EMAIL**

HI,

This pass weekend I visited your restaurant. My best friend and I had always wanted to go to the Pink Door and to see the cabaret show. I made sure I'd call ahead for reservations because I wanted this night to be perfect for her since no one was throwing her a birthday party. I called and specifically asked if I needed reservations to be in the section where put on the show and if there was going to be a show this Saturday there, since both of us had never been there, and I knew from going online, your website states' it's first come first serve and that you didn't take reservations for the cabaret show. The lady that picked up the phone, said yes, the shows are on Saturday and to get there early because the wait would probably be 20 min., so we can get a table and by the time the show starts; we'd already have seats and that the show was held in the lounge section, where you do not take reservations, (I have never been there, didn't know what to expect, don't know what the lay out was, but heard GREAT things about this place, and thought it was kind of odd not to take reservations for a show, but I took her word on it and thought, wow.. this must be so highly known, hence the first come, first serve basics). We got there at 8:30 pm, checked in the lounge, and were told that they'd be ready for us at 9:45 pm, and we were okay with that, because we expect it. We went across to Kell's and then came back around 9:40 p.m., and got seated. 11:00 p.m. rolled around and we heard the show… IN THE OTHER ROOM. I don't know where you hold the cabaret show, or if that was the show, BUT needless to say, I was very disappointed. It was a special night for us and really… what sold us on your place was the entertainment, even it we had to wait almost 1 hour to get a table, it would have been worth it. For first timers like my best friend and I, I was sad that she didn't see a cabaret show like I had promised her on her birthday and it left a negative perspective on your place with us. $160 dollars later, long wait, great good and no show.

**THEIR RESPONSE**
We take reservations the "old fashion" way.

Entertaining evening

The food was delicious and the short performances by the acrobat were delightful.

CHEESE

Its one of the coolest looking restaurants in Seattle that is known for near naked ladies prancing about on a beautiful stage on the weekends. After hearing that you are either in or out. But if you want to know more I'll say, people always take me here, and I want to like it, but I don't. Near naked ladies, woo-hoo, lovely aesthetic, yay. I can't vouch for it, but I hear the bartenders are good and I know the happy hour is ok. But otherwise, my servers there are always really green. The last time I was there I was truly afraid of the way in which my server opened a bottle of wine. Kind of like watching a child play with a handgun. The food is never good, never bad but is always prodigiously covered in cheese (literally and figuratively). Most of my experiences there have been like when you see south of the border or wall drug for the first time. Go sometime, have a glass of wine, see some boobs. But know that there is a better glass of wine at the Washington wine tasting room across the alley and professional boobs across the street at dj vu.

Tasty lasagna

I can't believe I lived in Seattle for so long before eating here. The food is pretty darn good, and the patio makes it one of the best spots downtown.

Cozy atmosphere and wonderful food

Cheery atmosphere makes this my go to place when in the area. Cozy as its not too big or small. Fresh food that tickles the taste buds with flavors from euro inspired cuisine. A fun place to let your hair down and relax with friends and have competent and moderately priced food.

The Pink Emerald

There are not enough stars in this ranking system for me to express my love for the Pink door. Not just a restaurant but a Seattle institution. The food is some of the best Italian style cuisine in town. The best part is that the Pink Door knows that yummy food can be more than just the plate on your table. Their outdoor deck and amazing events make for a dining experience that is always pleasurable. I have only ever had one complaint...the bathroom has always been a challenge.

Always great!

So I love coming back to the Pink Door - whether it is a date or taking my parents out there when they come to town. The food is good and creative, and the shows are fun. This restaurant has a lot of vibrance and radiates energy. Located in Post Alley, it's a local haunt with no sign... just the pink door. The deck is awesome for those late summer nights too!

Great Outdoor Deck

The Pink Door has one of the best decks in town. With colorful lights strung and a great view of the water, its my favorite place to eat in the summer. They also have good cocktails and a great burlesque show on Saturday nights. The food is so-so.

Reliable place for big night out

Great cocktails. Great lasagna. Spendy but, for a big night out for two or with friends, the atmosphere is worth it. Always make a reservation. Service is consistently attentive and on target. The deck is awesome in the summer. Tie one on in the sun.

Tricky to find

I've directed my fair share of people there as it's in my 'hood, but I'm not sure I'd intentionally send them there otherwise. It was good. But it wasn't great. And for the price and word of mouth I would expect it to rise above. Maybe I was just cranky because I was sat at the teensiest table ever in the main path of all the servers. I might give it another try, but it's certainly not on my destination list anymore.
