Our New Year's Resolution/West Seattle/Sun Jan 4/11:44 am: When Officer St. John arrived at the church to investigate an argument where a knife was seen, he contacted the c/w (complainant/witness) who stated that both parties involved in the possible crime had long since left the scene.
The c/w explained to the officer that the suspect had arrived late for church service that morning, and a member of the church made an announcement to all that with the New Year everyone should attempt to be on time. The suspect took offense at this announcement and left the service. A short time later, the suspect returned with his brother. The suspect then began to argue with the church member who had made the offending announcement. During the argument, the c/w stated, he saw the flash of a large knife in the hand of the suspect. The suspect and victim began to struggle and were separated by other church members. Both left the church in unknown directions.
To Celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ/West Seattle/Mon Jan 5/12:10 pm: Officer J. A. Nark reports: "The c/v [complainant/victim], a 39-year-old bartender, received the listed weapon, a Llama .45 caliber automatic, for Christmas. The c/v placed the weapon (still in its box) in his vehicle. Sometime between Christmas Day and January 5, an unknown person entered his vehicle and stole the weapon/Christmas present. The c/v states there were no signs of forced entry on the vehicle."
The End of the Year with Mr. and Mrs. Silence/Capitol Hill/Sat Jan 10/2:04 pm: Officer Kyle Kizzier reports: "I was dispatched to the listed address [Belmont Ave East] to investigate a theft. Upon arrival, I met with c/v [complainant/victim]. He said that he had hosted a small New Year's Eve party on December 31. On Sunday, January 1, he discovered two 35mm cameras were missing from his bedroom. He complained to various friends and acquaintances about the theft. On either Tuesday, January 6, or Wednesday, January 7, he discovered one of the cameras on the ground outside his window. The camera was damaged, but he admitted that the camera had been damaged before this incident. There was no sign of the other camera or of an expensive lens that had been stored with it.
"C/v said he believed one of the people at his party had taken it. C/v said that he has since heard from friends that this man is a shady character and generally 'a bad guy.' C/v said he didn't know this man well at all, and that he just sort of 'showed up' at the party.
"I asked who else had been at this party. C/v identified the others as 'Silence,' and 'Silence's girlfriend.' C/v said he didn't know the real name for 'Silence.' He went on to say that he had no way of contacting 'Silence,' or his girlfriend.... I provided c/v with a case number and asked him to call back should he locate serial numbers for the camera and lens."
