My Father/Downtown/Sat Feb 26/3:25 pm: A desperate son told Officer Laurie Ross that when his father recently came to his apartment for a visit, the old man copied his social security number from his computer. The son claimed his father also connected a secret device to his computer that allows him to see the websites his son visits. He then complained that his father had somehow gained access to his Fidelity Magellan account, and so was able to steal his carefully managed money. The officer was also told that the father had obtained the son's credit card numbers from his user-profiles at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Kozmo.com. With these numbers, he can order consumer products from the web whenever he likes.

Having heard all of the son's worst fears, Officer Laurie Ross transported him to Harborview Medical Center for a psychological evaluation. But after the doctor at HMC evaluated him, he told the reactionary officer that "he could be telling the truth. There is no way of knowing for sure if this had happened or is still going on." Concerned that she might have made a mistake, Officer Ross declared that the son's father was now a suspect "at large."

The Sisters/Greenwood/Sun March 12/10:27 pm: Tonight, 0fficer Harris was dispatched to a family home to investigate an assault between two sisters. He wrote this: "When I entered the victim's room, she was cleaning glass up from the floor. A glass-top table had been broken, and next to it was a large champagne bottle. I asked the victim how it was broken. She told me her friend had shown up at her house. Her sister doesn't like her friends and thinks they do bad things. She then became extremely mad at her and began yelling at her. She then grabbed a broomstick and hit her 4-7 times." Officer Harris then talked with the sister, and wrote the following: "She told me her sister is constantly in trouble and doesn't listen to her or her parents. She said her sister is always out all night partying. Both her parents work hard until late in the night and are not at home often, so she is in charge of her wild sister while they are gone. She said tonight her sister came over with her party friends and was going out with them despite [being told] no. So when she tried to leave the house, she hit her sister with a broomstick." The overbearing sister was then arrested and taken to the police station.

Husband and Wife/University District/Sun March 12/2:29 am: Tonight, Officer Huber and his partner where dispatched to a home to investigate a terrible crime that involved a digital video camera, a pervert, and a happily married couple. Upon arriving at the scene of the crime, the married couple told the officers that 30 minutes ago, their neighbors had alerted them of a most sinister incident: A man had just videotaped them through their bedroom window. The couple also told the officers that they had sex prior to hearing about the pervert with the camera. When the cops questioned the couple's neighbors, they stated that they were at home listening to music (as all friendly neighbors do) when they noticed a man standing outside on the steps of the married couple's house with a digital video camera, busily taping something through their bright window. They walked over to the man and asked what he was doing, and he fled down the alley. An area check for the voyeur-with-video turned up nothing. Somewhere in this city, there is a man doing something unspeakable with the digital images of this couple's intimate and sacred moment.
