Fuck the Indians, dots not feathers. In about five years the tech industry is going to realize that farming out code to India is a really bad idea. India has realized that writing code is just as lucrative as the textile industry. So they're putting as many people through their sub-par educational system as possible. Recently I was employed as a technical instructor supporting students in India on Microsoft server products. Not a single student I had could think outside the box. They follow instructions great! But once they're faced with a problem that can't be fixed easily without referring to step-by-step instructions, they fail miserably. I have never in my life been a racist or a bigot. Yet now I'm struggling with these feelings of, well, hatred. Not that Indians as a race are stupid. All the intelligent ones already work for Microsoft, and their children are now hanging out at the Baltic Room on Monday nights listening to REALLY bad music. Textiles is one thing, but we should not be trusting these idiots to build and maintain the infrastructure that is the Internet. Every country and culture in the world should have the right to do what is necessary to succeed... but for Christ's sake people, do what you're good at.
