Following in the bloody footsteps of such horror comedies as Dead Alive and Shaun of the Dead, Black Sheep could easily make you scared to dig back in the sock drawer. Suffering from a childhood sheep trauma, Henry returns to his family’s New Zealand farm after a 15-year hiatus, only to learn—to his and our horror—that his greedy brother has been dabbling in genetic engineering. From there the yarn unravels in predictable but nonetheless satisfying comic turns, as boy conquers phobia, meets ecoterrorist girl, and escapes man-eating sheep. (Black Sheep will open at one of Seattle's Landmark Theatres later this summer, probably in July.)
