Girls Rock!
United States, 2006 | 89 min. | Dir. Arne Johnson
For five days every summer droves of 8- to 18-year-old girls pack up and travel to Portland, Oregon, for the Rock and Roll Camp for Girls. They master their instruments (as much as you can master something in less than a week), they form bands, they write songs, and at the end of it they put on one hell of a girl-powered rock show full of sass, smiles, and surprising talent. Girls Rock! documents their heartwarming (and sometimes hilarious) efforts, and observes how the young women interact without boys around to burden, distract, and intimidate them.
