From the writers of The Death of Mr. Lazarescu. Brindusa (Downfall’s Alexandra Maria Lara) finds herself torn between long-time flame Nicolai (Razvan Vasilescu), and her strapping young German fiancé Stefan (Felix Klare), who is in Bucharest to install an offset machine at Nicolai’s shop. Slimy schemes, overbearing would-be in-laws, and shuffling languages ensue. It all adds up to an entertaining exploration of Romania’s post-communist struggles writ small.
