Alex is one of the most under-appreciated jazz musicians of our time. He has the elegance of Bill Evans, and the wit of Andy Samberg. This guy is great.

I chose Serafina's for the many positive reviews. However, my experience was terrible. The food was not good and terribly overpriced for what you do get. My server and extremely rude. The bartender was not knowledgeable. I will not be back and do not recommend that anyone attempt to stomach Serafina. UUGGGGHHH!

While I'm one of those guys who's romantic enough to think spaghetti kisses are cute, I'm also aware that Italian on a first date is the stupidest thing you can do - not least because I, in my infinite wisdom, am wearing work clothes designed to impress a client, not a date. Delicious, garlicky, messy Italian, is something that you have solo or with family wearing the equivalent of a bib. But since the Spontaneous Boy decided, “What the hell, Italian sounds DELICIOUS,” it's time to live dangerously, and to hell with the dry cleaners. Of course, finding legal parking on a Thursday night in Eastlake is like a heteroboy hitting on women in the Wild Rose. Sometimes it works, but the probability is fairly low. Serafina is ambience-light, but sufficiently doused in the soft-light Italian-style with a wood bar and a fairly decent wine selection to ignore in favor of a Heineken and a Guinness. Walking out of Serafina for under $75 for two people makes it something I wouldn't run cheerfully to every time I wanted to take someone out on a date; my random date location generator pulled a nice, upscale place with really, really good food for the night. Admittedly, I've heard that it's hit or miss, but the lamb ribs and the meatballs, combined with the starter salads and bread were perfect. Next time I take her out: Taco Bell. Equalization of expectations. Or something*. *IF SHE READS THIS I AM TOTALLY LYING I SWEAR.

I love Serafina, it's a great date place with a fantastic outdoor patio. However, it is expensive and sometimes the food can be a hit or a miss. Overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asks.
