The Silver Fork's soundtrack is old soul, and its decor is vintage Denny's (in a really good way). Whether you're aware of it or not, you wish you could start every day with breakfast—two fried eggs over medium with bright, runny yolks; two oily sausage patties; and a wide, dreamy, silky white pool of grits topped with a wholly excessive pat of butter—at the Silver Fork. On Sundays, people come here after church. The Silver Fork is a Seattle institution, and it is great.

Best Kept Breakfast Secret

I don't know why people think the 5pt is such an awesome greasy spoon when I have heaven in a small diner on Rainer. A ton of simple variations on a theme (eggs and bacon, egs and grits, eggs and grits and pancakes), the Fork accels at making you feel welcome and well fed on simple fare. My only grudge is that it's a bit pricey for a greasy spoon (not in the double digits), but they make up for in good sized portions and a cozy atmosphere.
