A few weeks ago, I fell asleep watching CNN and was awakened by coverage of a roomful of Obama Democrats chanting, "Race doesn't matter! Race doesn't matter!"

My first thought: "Why in the hell are Democrats chanting the Republican argument against affirmative action?"

My second thought: "Secular liberals pray very loudly."

My third thought: "Is there any irony more supreme than a bunch of white Americans pretending that race is unimportant?"

Last week, at a dinner party, I heard a Seattle white liberal say, "I know Obama wants to be president, but for him, it's not about winning."

That little comment nearly made me choke on my tofurkey appetizer. Barack Obama wants to be the president of the United States, a position that will make him one of the most powerful people in the history of our entire fucking planet. There is something profoundly wrong with anybody who wants to be president.

Obama is a fiercely competitive, power-hungry narcissist with a messiah complex. And I will happily and proudly vote for him in November. I'm crazy for self-centered overachievers like leftist politicians and pro basketball players. But the hoopsters are more honest because they never pretend that modesty is an admirable quality.
