Green star Stellar Pizza (Georgetown)

5513 Airport Way S
Seattle, WA 98108
(206) 763-1660
Website

So you're in Georgetown and you want to get some tasty pizza, specifically from a family-owned restaurant where everything is homemade, plus you want beer and you want to play pinball. Go to Stellar! The atmosphere is pleasant retro hodgepodge, the pizzas come in versions both classic and nouveau, and sandwiches include the Local 174 (Italian sausage, provolone, marinara, and hot peppers). Plus: lots of great booths. Stellar just feels good.

Why you always stank face me?!

Straight up wack ass service. It's too bad. I'm your neighbor and would bring myself and clients in all the time if the servers weren't so over-the-top rude. (There's a fella with long hair. He's really nice.)

But the woman with long blonde hair?? Wow. I walk in the door and she rolls her eyes....eh-ver-ee time. I stand there with a shit eating grin hoping to melt the ice, I respond to her temper with kindness - no matter. And then (stupidly) I leave an overly generous tip thinking the karma might help on my next visit.

Nope. Always stanky.

WHY YOU SO STANKY?!

Horrible service, bitchy slow staff, and I've had better

Took at least 45 minutes to get pizza. And while you wait, you get to deal with the crappy server that may be nice once and then be a total bitch the next time you come in. It is touch and go.

Plus, not only is the pizza expensive, but it doesn't compete anymore. There are better places out there now. Why spend 25 bucks on a pizza, when I can spend 18 for a way better pizza and Flying Squirrel? With a cool atmosphere?

Nah, this place sucks now. A couple years ago I would have given them 3-4 stars. Today, they only get one, and that is because they have yet to improve and only get worse.

best pizza

I have tried many pizza places in seattle. This is by far the best. Try the pizza that has gorgonzola and chicken. It is the tastiest thing that has met my mouth. The half pie is a perfect size for a couple. Very cool atmosphere too.

Hail Stellar's!!

When I lived on Beacon Hill, I discovered Stellar's. It is, by far, my favorite pizza town. There classic pies are perfect and their "nouveau" pies blow my mind. The sauce is just a bit spicy which is juxtaposed with their sweeter crust. The beer select to excellent, the drinks are stiff, and the staff super friendly. Blue collar, artists, hipsters, and yuppies (er, me) all enjoy the retro-kitsch atmosphere. And they are family friendly too!

I live in Gtown

This is the best pizza in Seattle. Get the fire engine 57. I think that was the name of it. I usually get the sandwiches, the BMT is the best. The Stellar Sidecar is the best drink in the joint. The service is kinda slow but it's usually packed and they only ever have one or two waitresses on at a time. That's managments fault not the staff. The food really can't be beat. It's not expensive. I would much rather go here then most places in Seattle. You will always get good food here. Never had a bad meal, just not always good service.

The 1 1/2 pizza/hr joint

Me I and my friends were made wait 45 minutes for a salad, and 1.5 hrs for a pizza. The pizza never came because we left, not without first hear from a disrespectful manager that the pizza there takes that long (but not for other tables of course). They kept serving other patrons way before us. In 1 1/2 hrs the wait staff stopped by our table only once to check on drinks. After complaining about the wait, they indicated that we needed to wait like everybody else (but everybody else had already food on their tables). The manager was worse than the wait staff. Well, I guess that's why they work at Stellar. The food might be good but too bad the owners don't keep an eye on the staff.

Atmosphere & Beer...

The pizza was average at best. Toppings were sparse, and it arrived at the table lukewarm as the cheese had already started to coagulate. The service was somewhat yawnish, as if they were doing you a favor serving you. Still, the place had a nice atmosphere, nd the beer was good and cold with a respectable selection on tap. I highly recommend going on Mondays for a few $1 off pints of Dick's Danger Ale AFTER you grab a bag full of Dick's cheeseburgers on Capitol Hill. You can eat them on the way to Georgetown.

TOP NOTCH (Mmm, meatball sandwich)

get the meatball sandwich or anything else with "gravy" (Rhode Islandese for red sauce). the sweet red sauce, fresh bread, generous portions, and reasonable prices somewhat compare to old school federal hill (providence's little italy) family style fare. the peppers in the sandwiches have a kick. Family friendly in early evening.

I like it

Stellar became our new pizza-place hangout when Bill's Off Broadway finally became too repulsive for our stomachs. The pizza is fairly similar to that of Bill's -- no frills, though there are quite a few specialty pies for the taking. The ingredients always have tasted fresh, though the staff does tend to serve plates when they are out-of-this-world hot, temperature-wise; this blister's for you, Stellar. What else ... the specialty-beer selection is top notch, and I love that I can play The Jam, Love Battery and The Oblivions on the jukebox. Oh, and unlike other G-town restaurants, Stellar also actually draws in quite a crowd with a good vibe.

Cherry Bomb

Whiskey-soaked cherries. Two for a buck. Cheapest buzz in town.

I Love this place!

I go to this place at least once a week. The pizza is great. Way better then most I have had in Stick up my Butt Seattle. The service is fine like anywhere else even better then most places. It's not over priced. The beer selection rocks. It has a great vibe that doesn't feel fake. The music that is played on the jukebox is the best ever. The BMT sandwich is actually where it's at. And it's among the few places in Seattle that has canolis and spumoni, which I think I spelled wrong but had the best intentions. Stellar is probably my only favorite pizza joint in Seattle.

LOUSY SERVICE, EXPENSIVE FOOD

I have been there more than once-each time was a bad experience. It always takes forever to get drinks, apps or food. I think it is expensive, too. I complained to management and they got in my face...NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE. Avoid this Georgetown dump.

Unfortunatley

Some staff are very friendly, and others don't seem to be as much or even close at times. Pizza has usually been overcooked everytime and it's not cheap so that's a bummer. On the other hand the atmosphere isn't repulsive, and it's a pizza joint in Georgetown where you can go, sit down, and drink.

Another favorite!

I have been frequenting Stellar since its inception (as 'Stella') back near the turn of the 21st century. The reason I keep going back is because the food is great, the server staff is friendly, and they have a good selection of beers on tap. And not to be a super-douche, but HOLY CRAP, is the tall, dark, tattoo'd bartender HOT!!

Excellent calzone

Forget the pizza, get a calzone! We shared it and still had a section to take home. Gigantic and quite tasty. Lovely atmosphere as everyone has noted, good beer selection and drink menu, good people-watching, friendly staff. My kinda place.

Good pizza place vibe

Georgetown does it right with Stella. The place has just the right feel to it with good beers and pretty good pies. I like hearing the trains too.

Go for the crowd or the alcohol...

...but not the pizza. Only the alcohol can save it. Bleh!

Planes, Trains, BEER & Pizza

This place has personality! Hot servers, great pizza - killer beer selection and liquor too. All kinds of people come here including kids. You can sit outside or inside. If you get stuck waiting on the train you can make out in the parking lot.

Meatball Pizza

If I could put their meatball pizza over my head without burning myself and eat my way out, I would.

Yay!

Somehow, this place actually manages to manufacture fun. It's always crowded with lovely Georgetownians, the jukebox is great, the decor is hip and alive. The pizza is quite good, but who cares? When I go to Stellar, I'm in it for the vibe.
