Snapshots of a Truly "Gorge-ous" Summer

If Seattle's such a cosmopolitan city, then how come you have to drive nearly 200 miles into the desert to experience the ultimate in summer fun--the outdoor rock show? While the well-heeled choose to remain within the city limits, sipping their smart gin and tonics and discussing politics, the true rock and rollers rat their hair, slip on their wife-beaters and basketball shoes, pile into a well-stocked RV, and head out to tiny George, WA, home of the spectacular Gorge Amphitheatre. Heat, the sweaty drive, $6 hot dogs, and $30 concert T-shirts be damned: Whether they come from Seattle, Spokane, or Yakima, everyone who converges on "the Gorge" is fuckin' ready to fuckin' rock.
