Killer Tartar Sauce

It's got greek olives in it.

Get the Souvlaki (grilled fishkabob with greek spices).

Ivars has better chowder, but the fish & chips are the best. It will never smell like fish in there.

This is it!

My husband and I have tried other seafood places in the Seattle area, and we so enjoy this "catch"! We feel that others are a bit overrated. Fresh & light tasting battered fish, seasoned vinegar & tartar finishes it off. Love these two men!

A little seasoning, please

Everything at Sunfish is great quality, but their batter must be nothing but flour and water. It has absolutely no taste. I'm not calling for gobs of garlic, but a little salt & pepper & paprika would be a big improvement. We no longer go there because everything is so BLAND.

Fish Wars on Alki!

I have been a longtime fan of Sunfish. As pointed out by the other reviewers, the fish is light, fresh and oh-so-tasty, the fries are fresh cut (say no to Sysco!), and the chowder is a treat. The 'cash only' policy is a little inconvenient. The Greek brothers are actually quite nice, but they don't suffer fools gladly: that is, be ready with your order before you step up to the counter, and don't ask if they take credit cards (can't you read the signs?). Think of benign versions of Seinfelds 'soup nazi'. I have long considered them the best on Alki, but Spuds is really giving them a run. For one thing, Spuds is currently serving larger pieces of cod in it's orders. Competition is good!

Outstanding!

The Sunfish isn't fancy, but their fish and chips and other combinations are fantastic! Good seafoods have returned to Alki! The owners are good folks too. They'll be happy to let you practice your Greek if you're so inclined and you're in for a treat with their seafoods in any event!

Sunfish kabobs=heaven!

The price goes up a tad every year and I always wince and then love every bite. Totally worth it. Grilled halibut falls right off the skewers, jumbo shrimp, big green peppers and lightly browned onions, fries. Oh my god. The signal that summer has arrived. After ten years I finally ordered something different and fried (scallops) and they were great, but nothing compares to that incredible halibut skewer. Please trust me. AMAZING! Bring sunblock and loose pants.

Two Greeks from Hell

Everything on the menu is hand prepared and by far the best fish and chips on the west coast. Once you have had Sunfish all the other fish joints seem lame and greasey.

best fish n' chips in Seattle

By far, the best fish n' chips in Seattle. No contest. It is pricey, and they only take cash, but totally totally worth it. And ps, the greek brothers that own the place aren't as crabby as they first seem - those two are pussycats.
