NEWS Another week, another assault on faith from the drug-addled heathens at The Stranger. First up is AMY JENNIGES who reports on an Eastside parent who was forbidden to observe Christian-based sex education class at her school district's high school. Elsewhere, the normally esteemed SANDEEP KAUSHIK tackles the recent Senate filibuster debate with the expected anti-religious scorn. The lone secular holdout: KAUSHIK's story on the Washington State gubernatorial lawsuit.

FEATURE Skipping the FactsIn my day it was called a "spat." To The Stranger, however, a minor squabble is not just a story, but a declaration of war. In this corner: Knute "Skip" Berger, editor of The Stranger's chief rival, the Seattle Weekly. In the other: ERICA C. BARNETT and JOSH FEIT, who work hard to tear down Mr. Berger with all the vitriol their 1,400 words can muster. At issue: Who's right about density in Seattle, an argument few outside of the decrepit offices of either newspaper will find even remotely interesting. Density indeed. Make sure to tune in next week when Dan Savage tears apart Redbook editor Stacy Morrison over the relative visibility of panty-lines!

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS Last week brought the arrival of a new column the raging alcoholics at The Stranger have long been clamoring for: Bar Exam by BETHANY JEAN CLEMENT, wherein the sauced-up scribe picks a new bar about which to write every week. In the last issue, this column was called At the Bar. God only knows what it may be called next week. A more important question: How is whatever-this-column-is-called different from the dozen-or-so other drinking-related columns the paper publishes? What's next, a column about being gay?
