While the interior at this restaurant in the Seattle Art Museum is sleek, civilized, and hypercontemporary, the food can be rather hum-drum. Still, there is an admirable emphasis on using organic and/or sustainable products from local purveyors, and the attractive bar suggests itself as a happy place. The kitchen executes the simpler bar menu fairly well, and at happy hour—recent options included Kusshi oysters, padron pepper croquets, and rosemary frites—they're practically paying you to eat there.

I recently stepped into Taste expecting the typical museum cafe equipped with a small cooler of premade sandwiches and soda. However, I was pleased to find a full service restaurant with a focus on local food and sustainable practices. The quality is supreme and the prices are right. Although Taste is attached to the museum, it is an incredible restaurant all on its own. It's open past the museum (10am- 10pm Wed-Sat, 9am-8pm Sun), and the executive chef, pastry chef and lead bartender are award winning Seattleites. This is one of my new favorite downtown restaurants. I can't wait to go back!

We went to Taste to celebrate Valentine's Day. What a joke. The food was less than stellar...way to little for your buck. We were ignored by our waiter the entire evening and were never once asked how the meal was or how we were doing. We did not get the paired wine tasting with our meal which seemed to be the only way the restaurant staff would pay any attention to you. After scanning the room and other tables in the restaurant it was obvious that the only tables that got decent service were the one's who chose to add on the $30/person wine tasting to an already $50/person joke of a meal. Will never recommend to anyone. This place is awful. And to top it off, we weren't even acknowledged when we left or thanked for coming in.
