Gross

This place is awful. I had OK food from there the first time I ordered. The second time, I was so disappointed I threw most of it away.

Offenses included, a quarter raw cabbage head stuck in my takeout box (what, am I supposed to shred this myslef?), underseasoned EVERYTHING, Safeway style "sweet and sour" sauce, the list could go on. The worst offense though, a poo vein pencil lead thick left in ALL of my shrimp in a dish. That's ridiculous. I put that in my mouth!

Basically $40 flushed down my toilet.

Bad service

The food was ok but I am very disappointed with the service. The waitress seemed like she just got up from bed. Honestly, it was a turn off! She did not even check back with us to see if we needed anything. Everybody has a bad day but don't take it out on customers, please.

Solid Thai, all the time

I eat regularly at Tawon Thai for three reasons: it's close, it's solid cuisine, and they're fast. I've spent a lot of time at "great" (really just fine) Thai restaurants that take forever to push out a simple noodle or rice dish. I've liked nearly everything I've ordered from Tawon Thai. I especially recommend their brown rice, really a purply nutty rice, which is worth the extra $1. Their pad thai, like most Thai restaurants, is not great. I'm very fond of their red and green curries. Spicing is erratic. Two stars is sometimes "dish dumped with red peppers on top." Other times, more evenly spiced. I'd opt for fewer stars for a better result.
