The best of Sea-Tac 2000 Ballot

PROUD SEATACIANS get mighty tired of being told our hometown isn't really a city. "Where's your downtown retail core?" our neighbors to the north ask. "Where's your funky neighborhood full of tattoo parlors and pawn shops?" our neighbors to the south ask. "Hey, this place is nothing but a bunch of crappy strip clubs!" both insist.

Shows what they know! Even before SeaTac incorporated in 1990, we were so much more than "that place with a bunch of strip clubs." Our little chunk of the Pacific Northwest--paradise, as we locals like to call it--practically invented the full-service tourist industry. Our fine hotels, casinos, restaurants, and various entertainment venues have been catering to the needs of travelers long before that place up north ever got around to building a convention center. Nightlife, gambling, big stars--they don't call SeaTac "Las Vegas on Puget Sound" for nothing!

Our town's vibrant city life coupled with its aggressive civic discourse are what convinced the founders of The Stranger to start a weekly paper right here in SeaTac. Not once in the five years since the first issue of The SeaTac Stranger hit the streets have we regretted that decision. Oh, The SeaTac Stranger may have changed hands twice in the last two years; our new owners may have closed our sister paper (Southsideweek); and our future may be as murky as Puget Sound itself, but our commitment to serving SeaTac is as solid as ever!

We've come to know and love SeaTac! And the only people who know SeaTac better than we do are our readers! So do your civic duty and fill out your "Best of SeaTac" ballot. Who's SeaTac's most honest card dealer? Let us know! Our best bail bondsperson? Vote today! Where's the most delicious Denny's? Fill out that ballot!

And please! As always, only one ballot per person! Ballot-box stuffers will be disqualified!

On line ballot coming soon!!!
