Alki Tavern is a reputed biker bar—a smeary black patch on the floor marks where the tires of a Harley, upon being wheeled indoors, were said to have inexplicably burst into flames. But don't let the rotten stereotypes unfairly assigned to motorcyclists scare you off. Instead of bleeding knuckles, musty beards, and mouths filled with dissolving teeth, Alki's clientele consists primarily of sweet blue-collar types, many of whom will offer to buy you a drink, and all of whom will be polite about it. And while there's no official happy hour, things are cheap around the clock, including shockingly inexpensive biweekly food specials (Tuesdays, $1 burgers; Thursdays, $1 tacos) and discount drafts for ladies—including $2 Mirror Pond, Mac & Jack's, and Guinness—on Fridays from 5:00–10:00 pm. Plus, on Wednesdays, free pool!
