At the neon-beer-sign-bedecked Planet Georgetown, which rests directly across the street from Hangar Cafe, middle-aged men wearing pastel polo shirts gather into conversing bouquets. In direct opposition to its hulking neighbor, Hangar Cafe's teeny space, subdued décor (slate-gray walls, glossy wood floors), and bizarre daybreak schedule (Mon—Fri 7 am—5 pm, Sat—Sun 8 am—3 pm) hails a different crowd. For those who are presumably not limited by the confines of a standard nine-to-five, the happy hour (Tue—Fri 3—5 pm) features 50-cent discounts on espresso, pastries from Mighty O Donuts and Essential Bakery, beer such as Black Butte, Moonstone Sake, and assorted Jacob's Creek wines. (Hangar Cafe, 6261 13th Ave S, 762-7226. Happy Hour Tues—Fri 3—5 pm.)
