WEDNESDAY 2/29

HEART BREAKS OPEN

Let's all go to the movies—AND CRY! Heart Breaks Open is a very local and most very gay movie that I did not give nearly enough love and attention to when it played during the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and/or the regular old breeder Seattle International Film Festival, because I SUCK DONKEY BALLS is what. And so you probably missed it. (Feel my POWER!) Well, you can thank me now, buster, because it all worked out for the cheaper: It's screening tonight for—that's right!—NO MONIES WHATSOEVER. (Some circles call that "free.") It's a moody, moving, lovely bit of celluloid, cast with more gay Seattleites than you can shake a gay Space Needle at. And the best part? The film stars that one Hottie McHottiepants guy who works at Oddfellows. (Yes, THAT one. Swoon.) Vera Project, 7 pm, free, all ages.

THURSDAY 3/1

ELEKTROPOP

The hostess is called "Mama Tits," and they're SO not kidding. The DJ is called Skiddle, and he is the golden child of the C89.5 FM, don'tcha know. (There's still a thing called radio? My land.) He and DJ PBear drive the so-called "beats." This is a rather newish every-Thursday dance-and-model event full of pretty people who like to shake their butts and swill the boozes to exhaustion. Plus a show and special guests! What's not to love? Baltic Room, 8 pm, free, 21+.

FRIDAY 3/2

DINA MARTINA: AMPLE WATTAGE

If you thought you'd be forced to endure a drab, regrettable existence till another fucking Christmas rolls around to bathe in the sweet waters of Martina, well, HA! You are so totally wrong about everything. (Rejoice! Rejoice in your so total wrongness!) Tonight is opening night of a brand-new Dina show with all new Dina stuff (the songs, the camel toes, the madness—it's all new!) in the classic old Dina style... INIMITABLE. Re-bar, 7 pm, $20 adv/$25 DOS, 21+.
