THURSDAY 10/7

AMERICANA

Kurt B. Reighley. Noted music writer. Dude with a beard. Author. Raconteur! Super-fun DJ and inventor of the Tiniest Tea Dance (every Sunday at Pony). What a treasure! And now? He's published his third book, United States of Americana, and tonight is the sure-to-be-drenched-in-old-timey-gayness release party at the Sunset Tavern in glamorous Ballard. Featuring live liveness from Mark Pickerel and His Praying Hands! Cobirds Unite! Paula the Swedish Housewife! Miss Indigo Blue! And Squirrel Butter! (The party will feature these things, not the book. Probably. I haven't read it yet.) Sunset Tavern, 8:30 pm, $7, 21+.

FRIDAY 10/8

LEZBRO

Omigodz, you guys. Best. Named. Thing. EVER. (Shoot me that I didn't think of it.) DJ Tony Burns unites fabulous forces with L.A. Kendall for this, the kickoff of their all-new second-Friday-of-every-month event for queerboys AND queergirls! Wildrose, 9 pm, $3, 21+.

SATURDAY 10/9

GLITORIS

Omigodz, you guys. Second. Best. Named. Thing. EVER. (BANG!) Freaky-psycho-trannies (et al.) are encouraged to dress, dance, drink (the holy "Three Ds"), and, of course, "FREAK THE FUCK OUT!" Always some good advice. Pony, 10 pm, free, 21+.

TUESDAY 10/12

TEST KITCHEN

The funnest, funniest flowers in all of Seattle's theatrical garden (including those who brought us Kooterville and The Stay Up Late Show) come together to dazzle us with an evening of all-grrl singing! Dancing! Being funny! Featuring many names you'll recognize, like Val Bush! Lenore Giardina! Karen Gruber Ryan! Marty Mukhalian! Some others! And my favorite, Rebecca M. Davis. (The M. stands for Mmmmm.) Theatre Off Jackson, 7 pm, by donation (cheap!).
