FRONT OF BOOK Letters: Though this week's paper is gigantic, the letters page remains at a mere half-page. Do Seattle residents need any more proof that The Stranger cares very little about their input?... Last Days: Brilliant.... NEWS A large section brimming with painfully uninteresting articles. With sections like this, is it any wonder people in Seattle consider the Seattle Weekly the more serious, intelligent publication?... SHORT FEATURE A painful, lengthy stretch of tripe from Bradley Steinbacher. Don't bother.... FEATURE The Stranger's 2003 Queer Issue, which, predictably, is filled with little more than nasty, mean essays. In short, Dan Savage alienates the gay community once again.... THEATER Too gay.... BOOKS Also didn't read.... ART Nada.... FOOD Evidently Min Liao is soon to be departing the paper. Does this mean The Stranger will find a suitably uncritical replacement for her?... MUSIC A decent section, though the writing of Zac Pennington is uselessly snipey.... FILM A rather smart review from Charles Mudede, plus a handful of smaller, fairly worthwhile pieces. Overcoats are surely being passed out in hell as we speak.... ETC. Nightstand: Didn't read.... Some Candy Talking: Didn't read.... Live Wire: A brisk, entertaining, and informative read.... Erasing Hours: A long-winded, dull, and utterly useless read.... Savage Love: Filthy, inept, immoral.... I Love TV: Just plain filthy.... Control Tower: Didn't read.... Celebrity I Saw U: Too gay....
