I finally have a cupcake shop within walking distance from work and home! Mike & Tony are adorably sweet and will never fail at making you feel like you're the only customer in the store. I love how this place has more varieties of actual cupcakes than other places that serve only chocolate, vanilla, or red velvet. I try to stop by about once a month to satisfy my craving. My only complaint is the hours - I work from 9 to 6 so I'm forced to adjust accordingly! It would be nice if they were open later for me to hang out at after work :(

It may seem like a lot, but Seattle didn't have any. I think it's great more than one neighborhood can sustain an ice cream shop. Any time that an independent business succeeds is a time to be thankful. Growing up in Pennsylvania we had one every five miles or so. I think it is probably comforting and nostalgic for a lot of people, even if it is a little different than what they grew up with. The beer flavors are a little ridiculous but if there are other quality products this is easy to ignore. Enjoy what you like, don't worry about what you don't.

First, the author takes a city-wide rather than a neighborhood view, when many people primarily frequent businesses in their neighborhood. I, for one, don't have a car, so I like that a few new places have opened up in locations I can walk to. Living in Capitol Hill, I'm not about to walk to Ballard or West Seattle to get cupcakes, so it's nice to have a location in my neighborhood.

Second, is the author really so upset about sweets? That seems like such a trivial thing to be annoyed about. If you don't want them (and they make you want to vomit), the easy solution is not to eat them. No one is forcing you. Leave for the people who enjoy the treats. This article strikes me as along the lines of people who write comments on blogs about how much they hate the authors: SO WHY READ IT? If you're sick of desserts, don't eat them.

fuck you and your rant about too much fucking desserts in the city. its delicious. its good. and depending on how long a line is at least you know you have other options. as if ice cream and cupcakes are ever going to turn over on themselves. its consumption at its finest - it goes into bellies that need to be filled. its not like buying the latest trend in fashion. its fucking food albeit sugary and unhealthy but whatever. here's your up chuck bucket and don't let my foot get stuck in your ass as I kick you out of my way in line.
