There's just too much happening this week to concentrate on one specific show, I'm sorry. I'll run down a couple highlights, but then you're gonna have to decide for yourself where to spend your money and time--or hey, go to all of these shows.

If you're too young for the 21+ Three Imaginary Girls Rockstar Suicide Karaoke Party on Thursday, June 10, at the Crocodile, then you might be able to quiet your pop hunger pains that same night with the powerful indie rock of the Jealous Sound and poppy Piebald at Graceland. Advance tickets are only 10 bucks, show starts at 8:00 p.m., and if Piebald can steer clear of playing cheesy songs about tour vans, then it just might be a rad show.

Seattle's newest punk rock 'n' roll group, the Insurgence, play the Old Fire House on Friday the 11th. The Insurgence spice up a familiar up-tempo punk sound (think early/mid Rancid) with some extra attitude and killer bass lines. If you're a fan of, say, the HollowPoints, then there's probably a place in your heart for the Insurgence. MP3s are available at their website (theinsurgence.com), and they also have demos available for sale at the shows (cheap, if I remember correctly), so bring some extra cash if you go.

Another reason to check out this show is to catch, uh, the sassy pop stylings of the Catch, who recently finished recording their upcoming EP titled Hate Ball, so the girls will surely be in fine form. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. and costs a mere six bucks.

Saturday, June 12, has Vaux, Schoolyard Heroes, and the Senate Arcade playing the early show (starting at 5:30 p.m.) at Graceland. With Vaux headlining, surely the metal-lovin' kids will be happy. And Sunday, well, Sunday you can rest up for the Blood Brothers show on Monday. After hiding away for a while (mostly because they've been on tour both in the U.S. and overseas), the Bros. are finally back (it feels like they've been gone forever), and they're playing with Challenger at Neumo's (Chicago's Challenger, if you don't know, includes 75 percent of Milemarker and sounds 100 percent different than that band, but I already told you all about them on page 43). Show starts at 8:00 p.m. and it's 10 bucks in advance.

Okay, wait, there's more. For those who haven't heard, there's a new all-ages club in town, in Ballard actually, on the corner of 22nd Avenue NW and Market Street. Since opening, Lila's has started hosting all-ages dance nights, with various local DJs like Panix and Xavier13 spinning different genres of music--from industrial, punk, and '80s to world music. Check out the full schedule at www.clublilas.com. Lila's also plans on having live music, and hanging local art shows in the future too. Best thing is, cover's cheap, just five bucks every night. Not too shabby. MEGAN SELING
