This week, why not give your poor ringing ears a rest from all that loud rock and roll you've been beating them with, and just sit back and enjoy two gorgeous shows in two equally gorgeous venues?

On Saturday night, the Seattle Rock Orchestra continue their awesome streak by performing the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds in its entirety at the Moore Theatre. They absolutely killed Arcade Fire's Funeral last year, and there isn't a doubt in my mind that the Beach Boys classic will sound INCREDIBLE when tackled by the talented army of 50-plus local musicians.

Orchestra leader Scott Teske takes great care in catching every single nuance of every song the ensemble covers, and he has a knack for picking the perfect guest singers as well. (I still get goose bumps when I recall Alessandra Rose singing Arcade Fire's "Wake Up" at the Fremont Abbey last year.) For the Beach Boys show, Teske is bringing back Rose, along with Ivan & Alyosha, Lesli Wood of the Redwood Plan, James Lanman, Mychal Cohen of Campfire OK, and more. Tickets are $18 at www.stgpresents.com.

While you're thinking about the Seattle Rock Orchestra, you should mark your calendar now for two of their 2011 events: On February 19, they're paying tribute to Radiohead's The Bends and OK Computer, and on May 21, they're playing Queen's A Night at the Opera. Radiohead will be great, but that Queen show is going to rule all.

Grand Hallway, Seattle's own miniature indie-pop orchestra, will play their last show of the year at the Triple Door on Wednesday, November 17. After this show, they'll be hibernating for the winter while recording a new record, so this will be your last chance to see them for a while.

But fine. If you want to be stubborn and keep pummeling your ears with loud noise, whatever, I can't stop you: Police Teeth are playing the Fusion Cafe with Vancouver's Carpenter on Saturday. Have at it. recommended
