FRIDAY 7/8

SECOND SIGHT

T. J. Cowgill (Actual Pain, Book of Black Earth, and King Dude) is hosting a club night at Black Lodge on the second Friday of every month. Those familiar with Actual Pain's macabre aesthetic will be unsurprised to learn that Second Sight aims to bring some of the dark, delirious sounds of Actual Pain's killer online mixtape freebies to the dance floor. The series has included contributions from witch house greats like Mater Suspiria Vision, oOoOO, and Dream Boat, as well as brutal rockers Blessure Grave, Kvohst, and Fenriz. Show up before 10 pm and admittance is free! Black Lodge, 9 pm, $5.

SATURDAY 7/9

BRAIN FRUIT, ZORCH, CHEMICAL CLOCK

There's no better time to investigate local synth voyagers Brain Fruit. The duo's got an album dropping via outsider electro imprint Debacle by the end of summer, and recently sojourned in India, Istanbul, and Germany (highlights from their travelogue on our Line Out blog: crashing a birthday party, food poisoning, having their skin dyed orange by chemicals, weed milkshakes, more food poisoning, and discovering discarded X-rays of lung infections). Maybe the travels have added some peripatetic swagger to the prismatic, propellant jams they mine from the fruitful crevasse between kraut and psychedelia. Healthy Times Fun Club, 9 pm, $5.

PINK GORILLA

The U-District gamer mecca recently started hosting shows on its in-store Pinky's Dream Stage showcasing niche nerd genres like eight-bit and nerdcore hiphop. To stay abreast of future concerts, bookmark www.pinkgorillagames.com.
