Authentic

A great, light meal in a relaxed room. I love the feel of this place and it was matched by the pizza, salad and wine. There's more to try and I'll be back.

Best Pepperoni Ever

I LOVE this place. The vibe is awesome. But more than anything the pepperoni they use is amazing. Really. Try it.

So so food, snotty ass service and a completely undeserved reputation.

I guess people love this place because it's "cute" but that's all it has going for it. I've had authentic Neapolitan pizza in SF and this does not come close.

Good If You're Patient

Great pizza, nice wine, a tad pricey. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to get in the place anymore. To their credit, though, last time we were told a half-hour wait for 4, and it was really only about 12 minutes.

Fantastic

I love everything about this place. The ambience is dark, romantic, stylish, hip. The staff are young, stylish, beautiful, knowledgeable, and attentive without being annoying. The cocktails are some of the best in the city. The salads and salumi platter are, as noted by another review, outstanding. The pizza is divine. The Pizza Dante is my favorite - peppery fresh arugula piled on top after it comes out of the oven. Finish with a shot of Strega liqueur and one of the desserts - they're all excellent.

Close to the real thing, but not quite...

OK, so the pizza isn't sliced, which is a good thing. But the pizza is just good, not great. My prosciutto looked like cheap deli ham. The bruschetta meditterania is excellent. Eat at the bar if there's a wait for a table. The bartenders are great. Small-ish wine pours.

Pizza is great, but this place has more to offer

Yes, the pizza is the show: crust is gummy, the mushrooms rubbery and the pepperonis curled up into a perfect little tough boat to cup the grease it exudes while cooking in the hipster brick oven imported from Italy. But you have probably been at the restaurant for 90 minutes before the pizza makes an appearance. Carnivores: Start dinner with the salumi platter and the rest is secondary. Everyone: Get a salad. The greens here are impeccably snappy and spongy, very fresh. And be sure to drink. Have a martini or a couple of beers. Relax and enjoy the remarkable surroundings. From the start of construction, this place took forever to finally open. The quality of the lighting, the decor and the atmosphere show why. This really is a special restaurant.

Pies from heaven

I worship the pizza crust; whatever is put on the crust is secondary. Good, polite (rather than chatty) european-style service and a great atmosphere make a great experience. Get here before 6:00 or make a reservation!
