I popped in as I was walking by, and was a bit nervous because there were so many people in there. Wine tasting makes me a bit nervous to start but figured I’d give it a try. What a great time I had! First of all, recognized a few people from my building who said “we come here all the time! How’s it going?” But the rest of the crowd seemed new and vibrant too, so not an “insiders” function at all. Then it was on to the wines. The owners, Dave and Haj (think that’s right) caught my eye when I came in and gave a laid-back welcome and handed me a taste of wine: a great sparkling to start, so I thought “this will be fine.” Loved the first wine, and must say, loved each wine I tasted after that. That has never happened before, liking each wine at a tasting! I had a lot of trouble picking what to buy. Chose a great organic French Rhone red that was a huge hit at dinner tonight. Listen people: these guys are nice, and I mean that in the most complimentary way, and they know their stuff. They also are serving wines that I would guess should be sold a much more than what I was seeing on the price tag. In short: these are the wines I always wish I was getting at TJ’s, but they taste SO much better!
