Has Waid's closed? Web site seems to be off-line and no one answered the phone when called during business hours.

Luc and the Lovingtons are a rare treat

I've gone to Waid's to see Luc and the Lovingtons twice now and they're great! It's a cool, funky, reggae crowd--very low key and very friendly. Luc and his friends have a nice vibe and the music is chill-licious. This atmosphere is a rare treat in Seattle.

My first experience with Haitian food...

...so I don't have a lot to compare it to. But I've sure eaten at a lot of restaurants, and I can think of few experiences lately that have been as pleasurable all around. Super friendly server, interesting environment, and most importantly the food that I simply wanted to spend the rest of my life shoveling into my mouth. As I understand the menu, there's something like five choices of meat including pork, goat, lamb, etc, and then also on the plate there's fried plantains, rice and beans, potato salad, beet salad, and maybe a couple of other things. The entree I got was $10. And they have beer on tap! I will go here again and again.
