Ansel,
The SPD says on its website it suspects an East African male of commiting the crime. The police have arrested him."

WTF?!
Sigh.
2
I sure hope they find the white racist that did this.

Ooops! http://www.king5.com/news/suspect-arrest…

I guess Keck's personal fluffer Ansel will have to go snipe hunting elsewhere.
4
It's amazing how often these things are perpetrated by members of the groups that are being "targeted". Maybe it's time to take these "horrible hate crime" reports with a grain of salt before all the information comes out.
5
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA *deep breath* HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
6
Ansel

Where did you go to school at? Because that's some serious University of Phoenix BS journalism you keep practicing.
7
It did seem odd that after they went to all the trouble to break in, all they did was write stuff on the whiteboard. You'd think that crazy hateful racists would burn the place down or something.

But it should be pointed out that the guy was only arrested for the burglary. He is, however, a suspect in the bias crime.
8
The East African suspect must be a Trump supporter.
10
Not a hate crime. A lie aimed at using the communities own anger and pension towards emotion over fact in order to cover his crime. Let's hope he was a lone wolf and this wasn't a false flag aimed at getting more funding for the center by stirring racial anger and fear.
11
They suspected the volunteer all along. And Ansel fell for it.
12
Maybe before Yalonda tackles something like racism she should learn to vet the volunteers.
13
Ahh too bad Stranger, you couldn't propagate the racist, republican narrative.
14
Wooooow lotta happy gleeful racists up in here.
Tell me, are all ya'll so giddy because you've finally got this one little straw to cling to?
"Look Ma! This proves racism isn't really a problem!"
If racism weren't a problem it wouldn't occur to anyone to try to disguise a crime this way.
15
I'm sure if witchcraft wasn't a problem in Salem no one would have felt the need to claim witches killed their livestock and cursed their unborn
16
it suspects an East African male of commiting the crime

Doh!
17
#6: Where did YOU go to school? Putting a preposition on the end of a sentence (if you don't know what a preposition is, look it up!) makes YOU sound like a moron. I know that it's becoming more prevalent, along with saying "like" and "goes" instead of said, but you must do your part to not be an ignorant idiot before you accuse others of not having the proper amount of education.
18
#10: It's TENSION, not pension! Seriously, there are some IGNORANT people posting here!
19
Yup, in the end it was more Salem than Selma, haha... Supply of modern-day rayciss witches can't possibly meet the whiteliberal demand-- does Elon Musk or Ezra Klein have a futuristic solution for this social tragedy
21
@17, I don't pretend to work for a newspaper bitch.
22
Stuff like this has actually been happening surprisingly often lately, several POC on college campuses have been caught doing the same thing, and also sending death threats to other POC on social media and through anonymous notes pretending to be white people in order to stir up racial hatred.
23
As soon as I read this I thought frame job. Swastikas, trump, the target of a death threat being the head of an organization of which no one has heard.

How disappointing the truth is for those who want to promote their narrative and feel the satisfaction of knowing there are terrible people out there to feed and justify their sense of superiority.

Racism happens every day in the economic policies of both political parties, which is classist but demographically worse for minorities. Divide and conquer has become a no maintenance tactic thanks to misguided sjws.
24
Hey, neckbeards...what exactly did Ansel get wrong? He wrote about a crime, quite accurately and without editorial commentary. Or are you just objecting to any reports on hate crimes?

@18, I thought maybe they meant "penchant," making the phrase a little racist dig in its own right.
25
@24 He wrote an editorial, projecting a false narrative in the first sentence. And it went viral, to nodding disgust of those without the rationale to question what was an obvious frame job. Most people don't want to question anymore, they just want to point fingers at easy targets and look for high fives of approval, then put their heads back in the sand.

And sling insults like "neckbeards". You need to learn the definitions of accurate and editorial.
26
The writer needs to examine his anti-white racism, racism that led him to use such loaded language and not even broach the possibility of hoax or 'frame job'. He should doubly contemplate his anti-white bias which shows in his issuing a once sentence, throwaway update which isn't even a correction. And yes, a correction is due, as no 'hate crime' was committed and no Trump supporter involved. I am going to see if this publication has an ombudsman and contact them. I suggest all white folks reading this do the same.
27
@22.......You are quite right in that there is a tremendous amount of bogus reporting going on these days. Just last year with Rachel Dolezal reporting a hangman's noose left on her porch all the while she pretended to be black, as well as Rollingstone Magazine's false rape on campus story. It is too bad that sensationalism has destroyed true and respectable journalism. The Stranger should bill itself as Seattle's only tabloid instead of newspaper. Don't forget, April first is only a few days away.
28
This "White folk" recognizes her privilege and would not dream of complaining about reports of hate crimes, alleged or not. We all have to work together in challenging institutional racism. I don't see how that's even that controversial.
Yeah, the Rachel Dolezal story was met with quite a bit of skepticism by this publication (including by yours truly, as well as by Charles). I was actually quite a jerk about this young woman who was just messed up by religious fundamentalism. I feel pretty bad about it really. But, like I said, The Stranger was entirely unsympathetic to her narrative.

About the Rolling Stone Article: why is the onus for that on anyone besides the reporter?
29
@23 and @25, thanks for getting back to me and explaining your position. The neckbeards thing wasn't directed at you, or your ilk. Sorry about that. I still sort of disagree with you about the original article, but it's nice to get your viewpoint.
30
@15: Sooooo (and I want you to think a minute before you paint yourself into a corner) are you saying that racism in America is as imaginary as witchcraft?

Please wait...
