The prescription painkiller suspected to have been a factor in Prince's death

TMZ has reported that Prince's plane landing last week was hastened by the great artist having overdosed on percocet. Speculation has naturally followed that his death yesterday at age 57 was related to the painkiller, which combines Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, is highly addictive, and can have devastating effects on the human liver if used for a prolonged period. According to the report, he was rushed to a hospital and given something called a "save shot" of the anti-opioid drug Narcan.

This morning, NY Daily News reported that Prince's autopsy is underway, but that a determination of the actual cause of death could be weeks away.

Variety published a transcript of the 911 call that summoned authorities to Paisley Park yesterday after Prince had died. I'm not trying to sit in judgment, since we're all in the same sordid business, but I can't bring myself to cut, paste, or link to it here, so if you want to read it in this life, you're on your own.
