Thousands of People Gathered to Remember Pulse Victims: After 49 people, primarily people of color, were killed and 53 were injured last week in a massacre inside LGBT nightclub Pulse, an estimated 50,000 people congregated for a vigil at Lake Eola Park in Orlando, Fla., the Orlando Sentinel reported.

"Only a handful of anti-gay demonstrators actually appeared outside the Cathedral of St. Luke on Saturday, where the angels were standing guard. But 'they were outnumbered and out-voiced, though, by hundreds of people who showed up to support the victims and their grieving families,'" KPLU reported.

Senate to Take a Vote on Four Gun Proposals Today: The vote follows a powerful, 15-hour filibuster, led by Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy. Senators will vote on whether people on the no-fly list should have access to guns, closing the "gun show loophole," an alert that would let government officials know if someone on the terrorist watch list attempts to buy a weapon from a dealer, and adding people with mental illnesses to the background check database. Mr. Sanders Takes Washington: Despite Hillary Clinton being the Democratic party's presumptive nominee, the Washington State Democratic Party endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders in during their convention in Tacoma. Sanders will have 74 delegates from the state at the national convention while Clinton will have 27. In addition, 17 superdelegates, most of whom have already pledged their support to Clinton, will represent the state at the convention.

SPD Officer Shoots, Critically Injures Man in Central District: They were responding to a call about a suicidal man chasing his partner around their home while wielding a kitchen knife. When SPD officers arrived on scene, the man reportedly had two kitchen knives and confronted them "One officer shot the suspect, wounding him. Officers immediately began life saving efforts and called for Seattle Fire medics," SPD Blotter reported. According to Capitol Hill Seattle and Ansel, who was at the scene, witnesses reported hearing between four and eight shots.



The man is being treated at Harborview and is in critical condition.

The Bettie Page House is Vandalized: The mural of the famous pinup model, which can be seen from I-5 when passing the Ravenna-University District area, was defaced with grey paint, KOMO reported. "Stop exploiting women's bodies," the vandals wrote in a note, which they signed "some feminists."

[The homeowner, Jessica] Baxter, and her husband have tried scraping the paint off, but so far nothing works. So for now, Baxter did the only thing she could and covered the vandals words with her own by writing "Autonomous sexuality is empowerment, telling a woman to cover up is oppression."

She thinks the only fix will be to strip the siding of the house, but she insists that the Queen of Pinups will reign again.
