The woman who posted this to Facebook...

“It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away,” she wrote in March, “but that’s exactly what Democrats are determined to do by banning semi-automatic handguns.”

...had this to say about her two adult daughters:

“I love and treasure you both more than you could ever possibly know.”

This weekend Christy Sheats shot and killed both of her daughters using one of those guns Democrats wanted to take away from her:

A woman in Texas gunned down her two daughters — killing both of them — before a responding police officer killed the mother, authorities said. Christy Sheats, 42, fatally shot daughters Taylor, 22, and Madison, 17, on Friday in Fulshear, west of Houston, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. After someone called 911, a Fulshear police officer shot the mother when she refused to put down her weapon, the sheriff's office said. The daughters were found on the street with gunshot wounds. The older daughter died at the scene; the younger one at a hospital.

There was an argument, there was a gun in the house, and there were underlying mental health issues...

The Texas mother who was killed by police after fatally shooting her two daughters on Friday reportedly had a history of mental illness and actively supported gun rights on Facebook. The Fort Bend County Sheriff spokeswoman Caitilin Espinosa told People that Christy Sheats’ “mental crisis” had brought the police to her home “for previous altercations.”

Two things...

"Actively [supporting] gun rights on Facebook" is evidence of mental health issues all by itself.

And keeping guns in the home doesn't make you safer:

Owning a gun has been linked to higher risks of homicide, suicide, and accidental death by gun... For every time a gun is used in self-defense in the home, there are 7 assaults or murders, 11 suicide attempts, and 4 accidents involving guns in or around a home.

Ban them all.
