$10K Fine for SDOT Director Scott Kubly Over Pronto Cycle Share: Kubly, head of Seattle's Department of Transportation, did not fill out a required waiver regarding his former employment with Alta, the company that would go on to contract with the city and roll out Pronto, Seattle's troubled bike share service. The Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission reached a settlement with Kubly, the Seattle Times reports, in which he admits fault and pays a $10,000 fine.

Stolen Car Leads Seattle Police to Home Base for Thieves: "A stolen car and an abandoned letter from the King County Jail led police to a South Seattle home on Wednesday," according to SPD's Blotter, "where officers seized hundreds of items believed to have been taken in burglaries and thefts."

Car Taxes Going Up: Good! Washington drivers will pay an additional 4.9 cents for every gallon of gasoline or diesel starting next week—making for the second highest gas taxes in the country. The electric car renewal fee is increasing from $50 to $150. "The hike comes from Connecting Washington, a $16 billion transportation package approved by the legislature last year," KING 5 reports.

Automated Traffic Ticket-Fighting Robot Coming to Seattle: "College freshman Joshua Browder has created an online robot lawyer that has overturned 160,000 traffic tickets in London and New York," the Washington Times reports. "Mr. Browder plans to expand DoNotPay to Seattle next."
