Beginning six hours ago, Ciara has been trending on Twitter—what’s up with that?

According to the non-invasive tabloid TMZ, singer Ciara is pushing forward with a defamation lawsuit against her former fiancé, rapper Future. The singer alleges that he has made threats—through music and Twitter—to her current fiancé, Seattle resident Russell Wilson, a sports player of the football variety.

Rapper future then responded to the news via the subtweet below.

Whether or not Future has moved on, and whether or not Ciara believes it, the recent news update is just another segment of an ongoing saga between the duo. Previously, Future filed, then dropped, a lawsuit against Ciara over custody of their child, also named Future.

There's more to the feud, however.

Another unlikely Seattle connection comes in the form of Canadian rapper Drake. Let’s detangle.

Last year, Drake and Future collaborated on a joint album What a Time To Be Alive. Additionally, Future is a featured guest on Drake’s recent album Views, and Drake was a featured guest on Future’s 2015 album DS2. It’s safe to say that the two musicians are cordial.

However, also friendly are (or were) Drake and Russell Wilson. In 2013, Drake visited Seattle on his tour for album Nothing Was the Same. While he was here, he paid a visit to Seattle’s professional football team, the Seahawks. Wilson, in turn, gave Drake a shout-out via Twitter.

Shortly after Drake's visit, the Seahawks team went on to win the Superbowl, a coveted football award, and a source of pride for many residents of the greater Seattle area.

Back in present time: Future and Drake will be coming to Seattle in a few months, as a part of their joint Summer Sixteen tour. Given the tension between Future and Ciara, one wonders if Drake will he pay a second visit to his “favorite NFL team” this time around.
