Iraq veteran Ramon Mejía is something of a triple-threat to the Republican narrative that standing up for civil rights at home and abroad amounts to anti-veteran sentiment. On the same day that Benghazi veterans took the stage inside the Republican National Convention to talk about how rotting hairball Donald Trump would somehow "Make America Safe Again," Mejía walked with a group of fellow veterans behind a sign that read, "We Stand with Our Muslim Brothers and Sisters." In addition to serving in Iraq, Mejía also happens to be Latino and Muslim.

We walked and talked with Mejía about why it was important for him to protest at the RNC, and why he wants his presence there to give Muslim youth in America some hope for the future.
