Seattle Times and KIRO Went Down Into Link And Found It Packed With Riders: At this moment, the top post on Seattle Time's website is Danny Westneat's At Last, Seattle loves Its Light Rail. The core of the post is this:

The other morning I was out at the new light-rail station at the University of Washington. Not only were the trains standing room only both coming and going, even with school on a summer schedule. But the station itself was suffering from a severe parking shortage. I don’t mean car parking, but bike parking...
Westneat well knows he is writing to readers who will be stunned to learn that Link is nowhere close to being a total failure. It's a huge success, it really does work, it is not like those lame bike lanes, it is transforming our city.

Westneat, who, unlike the paper he writes for, supports light rail, informs his readers that boardings on Link have nearly doubled from the previous year, and it is now boasting world-class numbers. (KIRO too had to tell its viewers about this unexpected and maybe even unbelievable success story.) Seattle is in love with Link because Seattle is tired of not moving.

Four West Seattle Men Arrested for Road Rage Incident on West Seattle Bridge: The suspects (who were in a red Ford Crown Victoria) and the victim (whose car is not described in the Seattle PI post) were evidently stuck in traffic. The suspects then decided to blame the city's traffic troubles on this one driver. They dragged him out of his car and beat him in broad daylight. (This happened around 2 p.m..) The four men were later found and arrested.

Bellingham Pastor Accused of Having Sex With a Minor: This is how it started: "with rides home from church." This is how it progressed: with "hugs, kisses, nude pictures via text and sex—at least 100 times." This is how it ended: with the pastor "in the Whatcom County Jail accused of grooming one of his church girls for sex."

Seattle Construction Boom Accompanied by a Sharp Increase in Abandoned Homes: The city is confused. It's receiving more and more complaints about abandoned buildings at a time when the economy isn't in recession. Indeed, the real estate market is red hot (or in a bubble). The reason for this mismatch? "It is something of a mystery?"

This is Also Something of a Mystery: A body was found floating in the Duwamish River. The part of the river the body was seen in is near the 14000 block of Interurban Avenue South. The body, which has yet to be identified, and therefore have its life back, and life is a story with a beginning and an end, was found at night.

Another Mystery: Why did a North Miami police officer shoot a black man who was lying on the ground with his hands in the air? The black man's words:

“I thought it was a mosquito bite, and when it hit me I had my hands in the air, and I’m thinking I just got shot! And I’m saying, ‘Sir, why did you shoot me?’ and his words to me were, ‘I don’t know.’”
So, the cop doesn't know why he shot the black man on the ground with his hands plainly in the air.

The black man, Charles Kinsey, is a caregiver who, it turns out, was trying to help an autistic man reported to be armed with a gun but in actual fact had a toy car in his hands. The black man survived this time.

As For the Mystery of Seattle's Abandoned Homes: Maybe this can help solve it: "Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson announces the city will move ahead with plans to implement a tax on empty homes."

Ted Cruz Spoke At the Republican National Convention Without Endorsing Donald Trump: Cruz, a sleazy senator from Texas, gave, during prime time, a 30-minute speech that, including having nothing in it, did not have an endorsement for his former rival Donald Trump. Cruz is staying true to the hater game.

The Earth's Cloud System Going Through a Major Reorganization: Since 1983, cloud belts have been moving toward the poles. This has expanded the "subtropical dry zones." As the clouds move toward the poles, more light hits the surface of the Earth. This further warms our warming planet. And, yes, this development was predicted by climate change models. The hard evidence of our anthropogenic catastrophe is now arriving fast from the future.
