@1 -- That cracked me up. Bravo. Well done.

Anyway, why the censored F-word? I get why you cut out the N-word, but holy shit, this is The Stranger. Let the "fucking this," and :fucking that", "shit, piss, mother fucker" shit fly. I mean, people say some nasty shit, and it really doesn't matter if they swear while doing it. None of this would be any better if they didn't swear at all. The assholes who said this are fucking ass holes. They need to fuck off and die. Fuck off first.
3
This is why fascists need their heads stomped in.
4
That letter is truly disgusting and glad cops following up, hope you will follow through as you did several weeks ago with the Nine White Men scare in CD. (I'm joking - you didn't follow through.)

And, Ansel, your reference to bogus scare events such as the guy w/ Nazi armband undermines your efforts.

Yes there are creeps out there but don't make matters worse.

My initial reaction to this story -- seeing it is written by you -- is to wonder if story even real.
5
even if it's not fake (its just SO clichéd), it's probably someone she knows.
6
@2, they probably just copied and pasted it from the original blog post.
7
@4: I saw a skinhead neo-Nazi in the coleman dock terminal a couple months back - waiting for the ferry. full on stereotypical skinhead outfit - boots, bomber jacket, shaved head, tats.

no swastika armband, though.
9
Have you met those people, @8, or are you just the most intellectually lazy person on Slog?
10
Considering that the guy with the Nazi armband turned out to be mentally disabled and likely completely unaware of why the armband was offensive, maybe you shouldn't reference him in the upward trend you're illustrating, Ansel.
11
And the Bernie-Bros wonder why the rest of us keep harping on the importance of not standing on the sidelines this election. Of course, they're all White and overwhelmingly male, and clearly this has no effect on their lives nor on the lives of anyone they know personally, so...
12
So.....
Fake hate crimes affect us all? That's very true. Is that a story about Al Sharpton below this one? A theme of sorts.
13
There was a spike in these kind of reports in the UK after the Brexit vote, though directed at nearly anyone identified as a non-Briton, not just race-based, i.e., "We won! Youse out!"
14
@7 - Do you know he was a neo-Nazi or just someone in skinhead attire? The 60's skinhead (and 70's varients) look is big with young people again.
15
@12, I think you've proven to be a first rate imbecile. And voting for Trump is just as racist as voting for Hillary is an act of rape, and putting a Hillary sign in your yard is a sign of rape speech, not unlike victim blaming of rape survivors, as she is known to do. Not sure how you sleep at night, being the rapist that you are.
17
@14: I didn't quiz him, so IDK. he was older - 40-ish.
18
It seems much more likely to me that this was a false-flag operation by a Hillary operative or supporter. (On the other hand, if the billionaires that run the country have given the Trump campaign marching orders to lose -- Wall Street and most billionaires and megacorps are backing Hillary -- I suppose it could be a double-false-flag operation, a deliberately self-inflicted wound, their part.) Having flipped both middle fingers to every progressive in the country, and having been walked out on by a full 40% of Bernie delegates after her coronation by acclamation, Hillary's only chance of winning the general is to portray Trump and his supporters as racist, neo-fascist monsters. Don't get me wrong -- Trump is an ignorant, narcissistic, bigoted, bloviating jackass with no political history. But Hillary's established political record and financial conflicts of interest are horrifying to anyone concerned with actual racial and economic justice, which is the reason so many former Bernie supporters despise her and the reason she is losing to Trump in the polls. (This is the candidate your billionaire-friendly superdelegates chose to represent you, obedient Democratic rank and file.) So, making out Trump and his supporters to be the re-incarnation of the Ku Klux Klan and the Third Reich is pretty much Hillary's only option. I'm sure she'll get lots of very effective help in this endeavor from the media -- both mainstream and "alternative." Just look at how they're helping re-ignite the Cold War against Russia, in the absence of any evidence of aggression on Russia's part. I wonder what other Trump false-flags we might have in store for us in the months to come.

As for the threat itself -- despicable, of course. I'm interesting in seeing how hard the SPD investigates it.

@11: Comments like yours do more to divide the Democratic Party than any supposed "Bernie Bro" (which isn't actually a thing, by the way).
20
@18 - Possible, but more likely? I think the most likely scenario is that some scary, racist, Trump-loving asshole left this on the woman's door.
21
@17 - Ah, 40+ white dude, boots and braces, in Washington state... you're assumption wasn't unreasonable.
23
@18:

Dayum, that's some Roswell coverup, faked moon landings, black helicopter, Tri-lateral Commission, chem-trail level conspiracy shit you got going on there. You must not sleep much, laying awake all night spinning convoluted spiderweb scenarios of deep cover, false-false-false flag, triple-switcheroo, CO-CO-COINTELPRO operations to get like that.
24
@19:

You're assuming they were part of the Democratic Party in the first place.

As for Bernie-bros not "being a thing", well, the you must be the only person who thinks that...
25
Must be the same KKK Trump supporters who vandalized the African community center a few months ago.
26
Slimy, hateful coward like this have always existed, but now that Trump has exposed the long-festering Republican core, they feel emboldened to spread their ignorance. Good riddance to the Republican party & all it stands for!
27
@2, I clicked through and all the dashes are from the original blog posting.

Forget "fuck," though -- what I've never understood is why I've never seen journalists write "k---" for "kike" and "s----" for "spic" and "t--------" for "towelhead" and so on. The exceptional treatment of this one epithet of one racial group in reportage is odd, almost like the cartoons of Mohommad no-no.
28
I got some hate spray-painted on my house once. It wasn't about race; it was a relationship gone wrong issue, and the woman who did it, got the wrong house. Cops identified her and she helped me clean it up, with no hard feelings. But when I first saw it, that was some scary shit. It must be absolutely terrifying when you know someone means it, and it is racist. As long as this isn't another of those hoaxes, like waitstaff faking "no tip because ...." messages, this is a horrible thing to happen to someone and I don't like living around the sort of people who'd do that.
29
There needs to be a cutesy Slog term for fuck-you-left-wing-closet-racist-who-I-would-hug-if-I-met-you-at-a-bar
30
Yeah, it's kind of clichéd and it could be somebody putting on a hate act. The thing is, you don't put on that act if you're not fairly hateful to start. Trump is providing am atmosphere to dial it up.
31
Reminds me of the time someone mailed all that fake anthrax too all the gay bars in town, everyone thought it was a gay guy who did it.
32
I am mostly shocked that even in this comment thread there is an idiot somehow whining about "Bernie Bros."

Geez. Way to heroically make this all about your dumbass rage that there are people who dare disagree with you politically.
33
@24, The "Bernie Bro" article you link to - the article that you apparently did not read, but which you say proves that Bernie Bros exist - states very clearly:

"Despite his misty-eyed response, Kehren told Yahoo News that he is not a dedicated Sanders fan. 'I was getting emotional over the fact that he was doing his best to unify the party and I think that’s such a noble cause,' Kehren said. 'Bernie has led a revolution, he’s led a movement, and now that movement has to get behind the party.' He plans to vote for Clinton in the fall, and cried earlier in the night when others heckled Sanders for his calls to go to the polls for the Democratic nominee.

'She’s done her best to make deals with Bernie and to embrace his side, and I have to giver her credit for that,' he told Yahoo News."

So, um, well, if that's your example of Bernie Bros, then what exactly are you complaining about?
34
Bernie-bros might be a thing but I would wager there are more Bronies or Juggalettes.
35
@33:

I see you missed that I also linked to an entire Google search results page full of articles...
36
@35: Great research! Please do "obama born in kenya" next.
37
This is horrible but no more so then racist threats, mob harassment and extortion being directed towards a Jewish owned business in the CD by groups including Africatown and the NAACP, which are both financed by tax payer dollars. This man is a 4th generation resident of this Historically Jewish neighborhood and those saying proclaiming that he isn't welcome in "their" neighborhood don't even live in that neighborhood, never have, and many don't even live in Seattle. Can we please treat anti-Semitism the same as anti-black racism. It's not happening. The media does everything possible not to call it anti-Semitism due to the racial makeup and generally progressive affiliations of those involved. This is insulting and a blight on the left.
38
This sounds like a hoax.
I wonder why the threats to Uncle Ike didn't result in the same outcry or police action. They are well documents and those who did it even put it on youtube since they obviously don't realize how badly it incriminated themselves. How can you justify condemning one incident (which may even be a hoax) while condoning the other (posted to youtube and facebook) involving anti-Jewish harassment, extortion and threats? This discrepancy is systemic racism on the part of the anti-racist movement, the left, and the media.
39
@36 we've been waiting for something like "google" to break this thing wide open. My uncle in Skagit county isn't crazy after all!
40
@38, because progressives are antisemitic?
41
@35, no I did not miss that, I just ignored it just meant nothing.
42
Because it meant nothing, that is.
43
@42:

Just because you don't like the term, doesn't mean they don't exist. Also, apparently Sanders himself has acknowledged their existence, to the point he repudiated them in an interview on CNN back in February (starts at the 11:38 mark), characterizing them as "disgusting" and stating emphatically, "we don't want that crap." So, I guess they're not as "nothing" as people wish they were.
44
@37, I feel stupid even having to explain this to you. The protests have nothing to do with Eisenberg's religion or culture. It is you who are labeling it antisemitic. If you feel that any disagreement with a Jew is the definition of antisemitism, that's your business. But don't you dare try to paint others with that brush. It's disgusting.

Please wait...
