Jedadiah Bernards, 27, was walking home from working as a dishwasher at a Capitol Hill bar on Saturday night when, he told KOMO, three people attacked and mugged him.
"I had a really big gash on the side of my head where I got two staples," Bernards told the local TV station. "I had a big gash here on my eyebrow, and this side (left) of my neck was stomped into the ground, so it is swollen and bruised. I am lucky to be alive."
Seattle police say they haven't seen an uptick in reports of these kinds of muggings on Capitol Hill. But they told KOMO that they recommend people walking alone keep their eyes up and not glued to their smartphones.
