@4 It was more a commentary on the Stranger's coverage of Sawant's proposal then trying to make a point about needing funding. Basically we should totally spend $160M on housing, oh shit we have an issue in the education budge so the state must give us more money.

SPS is a joke. My mom works in payroll and you would not believe the level of managerial incompetence and cronyism she encounters. Money would be better spent being burnt to keep homeless warm than given to that horrible system. Unfortunately, the alternatives aren't all that great either: private schools ($$$) vs. charter schools (no oversight).
