A renewed war on pot? Bring it on. Even the rural folk who voted in Trump are in favor of legalizing pot. Keep fighting that useless battle. Keep wasting tax dollars throwing pot smokers in prison. The Trump voters will loooooove that.

In light of Chicago Fan's subsequent post regarding "Repeal Day", IF Sessions decides to push cannabis prosecutions, he's going to find a significant portion of the slightly-less-than-half the voters who supported Drumph sharpening their pitchforks on this; it may be one of the few issues where the Far Left and Far Right are actually somewhat in agreement. Besides, states have been essentially ignoring DEA edicts on this for a couple of decades now, and my guess is the Agency is going to be hard-pressed to comply with anything Sessions hands down, as states that have legalized cannabis are simply not going to cooperate (and the others that have allowed MM are most likely going to follow suit - pun intended), and the inevitable budget cuts combined with new mandates to increase enforcement in its areas of jurisdiction are going to mean they'll be trying to do a lot more with fewer resources. So yeah, that ought to work out just peachy for the DEA, just as it did for the feds with alcohol prohibition back in the day.

Yep, if Trump wants to be an effective populist, he'll block this (after letting plans be leaked). If it goes through, then he's just a puppet for the right-wing establishment.

Sing it sister! My grassroots plan is to propose paying train, air, bus fare and gasoline for families with kids with active grand mal seizures, to follow that asshat (and company) every second of his life. I think he needs to experience firsthand how they have to live in intractable pain and fear every second of theirs', scrambling daily for the most effective and immediate cure...not to mention the rest of us medical patients, and all the perfectly peaceful folks who just want to practice their' religion, recreation, and honoring of the Earth, safely and practically.

We could all be growing in our yards tomorrow if the DEA, FBI and CIA had their' priorities' straight, and honorably targeted (without corporate corruption) the heroin cartels, which freely prop up the sex trafficking, cocaine and meth trades by preying on the socio-economically disenfranchised. The drug lords, of both Big Pharma, and Afghanistan, etc. could never succeed if we rejected their' onslaughts of chemical crap, warped drug politics, and race wars. People have the power.

As a massage therapist I see people everyday who don't know they don't have to live in pain, or anxiety, at least three quarters of which are addicted to opiates and anti anxiety meds once they begin to take them. After a certain point they are merely staving off the side effects, creating a vicious cycle that hope for the future, detox and regular bodywork could reverse in weeks or months for most, if it were truly affordable to the masses. They tell me as much, every day, and from every background. Our friends', families', personal, and global health are numbers games to these lowlifes, and to that I say they can count on my loud objections. ONWARD AND UPWARD!!

Last time I checked, it is completely within the purview of the Federal government to regulate the interstate commerce of a marijuana which is not only crossing over state lines into and out of Washington state. But also the narcotics which are coming in from out of the country the majority of which is coming in from British Columbia and Mexico.

But a basic understanding of the U.S. Constitution has never been a strong point in Savage's unhinged and poorly researched ramblings.

It's only freedom if it's a big pile o guns.

@ don

Way to miss the forest for the trees. No one said the Feds didn't have the power.... just that they should leave it alone a la Obama.

Please wait...
