Weezers 10th and latest studio LP peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200
Weezer's 10th and latest studio LP peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

Weezer was formed at the height of the grunge era but essentially represented the opposite of what was coming out at the time: well-dressed, nerdy dudes pushing ear-wormy rock music with heavy emo and power-pop qualities that only grew more pop-oriented with each album (10 total) and every Top 10 Alternative Songs charter (11) the L.A. group put out.

Whether you're a former fan who believes Weezer was never better than 1996's Pinkerton, or a die-hard fan boy/girl who's been on board through all four eponymous albums—from their 1994 self-titled debut (aka The Blue Album), to 1996's Weezer (The Green Album), to 2008's Weezer (The Red Album), to last year's Weezer (The White Album)—there's no denying the group's staying power, although you can credit most of the over 17 million records sold worldwide to longtime frontman and primary creative force, Rivers Cuomo.

Weezer will be hitting the area this spring to headline The End of Winter, a concert event presented by 107.7 FM. The End of Winter takes place on Sunday, April 9, at XFINITY Arena at Everett. There will be warm-up from Toronto-based rockers The Trews, and kicking off the show is another Canadian band, punk/ska outfit The Flatliners.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 27, at 10 a.m.
