How are schools affected? They—most of them in Seattle and in the region—are closed. Spotted: kids and their guardians sliding down hills in saucers at parks everywhere.


How is transit affected? Most bus routes have been changed due to the snow. Routes that haven't been canceled or altered are running slower than usual. King County Metro has details right here.


How are the roads affected? They're fine, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation's traffic map. Be particularly cautious, they recommend, while driving in these conditions.


How is power affected? Over 7000 Seattleites are out of power, according to Seattle City Light's interactive outage map. For outages in the greater Seattle area, Puget Sound Energy has their own map—with estimated restoration times.
