To bad this alleged human is gay. Every thing else about this POS is absolutely reprehensible.
2
His fanboys are probably going to beat him up in an alley.
4
Surprisingly, you didn't note that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has donated $120,000 to CPAC.
5
Can we stop spilling more ink on this twerp? Donaldo announced yesterday that trans rights are going to be left up to the states, and that hasn't made the Morning News wrap.
6
Don't you mean "come dump"?
7
Ten years age difference doesn't sound even remotely outrageous when compared to, say, the 24 year age difference between SCROTUS & Mrs. SCROTUS.
8
Just one thing to add Dan. Many hetero individuals also aren't getting any relationships while "everyone else seems to be paired up."
9
@7: Not the record for a President and First Lady.

Frances Cleveland was 28 years younger than Grover Cleveland, Julia Tyler was 30 years younger than John Tyler.
10
@6. Cum is the noun, come is the verb, apparently. So one comes in a cum dump.

How awesome is it that the relation between the action of producing and the substantive existence of jizz has reached the point of being a high level grammatical debate.

Also ... 'cum dump'. Snigger.

That Matt Taibbi piece is a good read, although it seems it was written before Milo lost his book deal and Breitbart job, so maybe his wariness on Milo really being done has tempered some.

One thing he didn't really address (and I've seen NO ONE do so thoroughly or at least convincingly) is how exactly to get the troll mindset out of politics. There will always be old-fashioned conservatives, and there will always be meanies on the internet and in schools, etc, but the unlikely marriage of the two over just the last couple years is an odd, hard-to-remedy problem. This is especially difficult when -- with a kind of "Use your anger... come to the Dark Side" Tai Kwon Do -- trolls absorb criticism of their words and actions and reframe it as evidence of exactly what they are heroically pointing out is wrong with culture and society -- and when it's hard to deny that said criticism can be both hysterical and even immature to the point of being dangerous (e.g., the Cal riot), then it's easy to see how the troll demographic continues to swell its ranks. That mindset needs to be peeled back, until ALL the layers of the onion are gone, and we're just shockingly looking at a damp cutting board. What is that? It's a lack of compunction when it comes to hurting others -- with words or otherwise. More than that, even, it's a sense of pride and fulfillment at doing so. With someone like Milo -- and I would imagine most of his followers, even the most straight and traditional -- it can't be emphasized enough how THAT comes first, and particular ideological concerns (e.g., suppressing trans rights talk) comes second. The different kinds of trail mix filling the bag in the bulk aisle are ALL nasty, sure, but it's the BAG ITSELF, filling with this or that content, that is the worst -- and it's easy to miss because it's TRANSPARENT. How do we get that bag out of the store, so to speak?

What Yiannopolous doesn't seem to understand (or isn't willing to admit) is this: Yes, some young teenagers can and do have positive sexual experiences with older partners. But there's no way to know whether that will be the case until after the fact, often years after the fact. So we have laws that say people have to be a certain age, an age where they're more likely to have agency and make good decisions about what's right for them, before they can consent to sex. Better to prevent - delay, really - a few relationships that might turn out to have been OK after all, than to allow those relationships and expose these kids to more risk of coercion and abuse.
14
Roxane Gay (1 n, not 2.) Please fix!
15
It was conservatives who took Milo down...

Because they're the only ones with the power to do so.

We can protest and complain and interefere with his speeches for forever - and nothing will really change.

It's time for the left to wake up to the reality of how power works in America. Voices don't matter - money matters. The tools of capitalism matter.

Protesting is just a fancy, performance version of masturbation.
16
Many gay men of my acquaintance report initiating sex with older men before they had reached the age of consent. All of them were grateful for the experience, and none of them were traumatized. I was way too closeted to do the same myself, but I think it would be silly to ignore the fact that it happens that way for some guys.
17
@9 - I must say that those examples were at a time when men wore out wives for procreational purposes...

Oh wait
18
Here's another cogent analysis of the "Lost Boys Phenomenon" as it applies to Mr. Yiannoppolous and his most ardent followers, that I think addresses some of the issues raised above. Yes, it was the Conservative Right, and not the Liberal Left that ultimately brought him down, but it occurred at the expense of putting on display, in a very abject manner, the sheer hypocrisy of their agenda, namely, that their professed "moral outrage" is limited solely to their extreme distaste for Gay male sexuality, and that only because it represents a direct challenge to their perceived male heterosexual "normality". It's significant to note they didn't complain when he disparaged women, or Jews, or liberals, or any of the other traditional conservative bugbears; it was only when the subject of adult men having sex with young boys came up that they chose to draw the line.
19
@14: Fixed, thanks!
20
The damage that Milo did to the gay community is pretty substantial. Milo was/is a walking piece of horse shit but he did allow some conservatives to have a gay that they could like who was on their side. And sorry gang: winning conservatives over to our side is how we won marriage equality and how we gain our rights. You can't do it with just the left.

Now, with this sick defense of child rape (call it what you will but that's what he did) those conservatives will simply double down on their past hatred of gays and make life worse for those of our family stuck in red states. Milo will cause blood to be spilled.
21
I hope you're wrong, @20.
22
Too bad he didn't direct movies. He'd be lauded.

@22:

You forget: Polanski only raped underage girls, which, however heinous to most people's moral sensibilities is nevertheless an unequivocally heterosexual act, so he just barely stays on the safe side of the line Conservatives have drawn - the same side our Pussy-Grabber-In-Chief currently occupies, BTW. Yiannopoulos' crime was advocating for man-on-boy relations, which is the one sexual transgression Conservatives simply cannot abide, for the simple reason that it calls into question, however obliquely, their own self-perception of masculinity. Guys grabbing pussy is just jocular "locker room talk", but guys grabbing cock, regardless of age, is an abomination.
25
@15 so the power of simon and schuster pulling the book deal away is what did him in? cuz some other publisher will just pick it up and make money off it. I think he will survive the book deal. I think what took him down was his loose lips. he got a lil too loose with his verbiage when talking about his personal experience, and when you get close to or actually go over the line with pedophilia talk, it doesn't matter who you are, ask jared, you are going to be taken down. let's just hope this asshole doesn't rise from the ashes with even more power(aka money according to @15 and scarface).
26
Ending troll culture is really, really easy. In fact, both Google and the NRA are doing it now:

Require a working phone number or ISP-issued email address to sign up for email or forums or Twitter.

The problem isn't what people are saying, it's that they're able to say it anonymously.
27
@26, that sounds good. I'm also thinking, though, of what's going on in society away from computer screens to make unkindness an unremarkable trait.
28
The reason nobody cares about Roman Polanski (or R. Kelly, or any of a thousand others) is that they only fucked underage GIRLS. Which is naughty, but not heinous, according to most people's subconscious beliefs. Certainly not anywhere near the heinousness level of doing the exact same thing to BOYS. See, when you fuck an underage girl, you are just anticipating by a few years what is normal and natural - it's her destiny to be used for fucking by men. That's why god created her, right? But you aren't ever supposed to use males that way. Males are the fuckers, not the fuckees. Right?
29
What a crazy flash in the pan. No one knew who this guy was, outside of Breitbart fans, just a few months ago. As fucking weak as that interview with Bill mahar was, he got one thing right when he compared this guy to Joan Rivers. I could see him reinventing himself as a comedic troll that the left learns to tolerate. There are just too many examples of people who are pointlessly famous for me to believe we're done with this douche.
30
What Roman Polanski did is reprehensible but not comparable, for one thing he pled guilty, apologized to the victim, made reparations to his victim, and has been publicly forgiven by his victim, who has never been left alone and is repeatedly hounded by people who want to use her case to further their own means. Be as angry with Polanski as you like, he has not used his films to make anyone personally afraid or targeted them the way Milo Yiannopoulos has done with his writing, speeches and Twitter feeds, or egged anyone on to hate anyone else. Not saying that this excuses Polanski but the things he has endured in his life would have broken a lot of people, including being led with his family into the Krakow ghettos at age 6, seeing his father taken away, being shot at by soldiers as target practice, and then as an adult when he seemed to have happiness he lost his pregnant wife in one of the most horrific ways imaginable - again - not saying any of this excuses what he did but how exactly is any of this comparable to Milo Yiannopoulos? Again - pled guilty - fulfilled the psychiatric conditions that were the established conditions of the plea bargain - fled the country when it became understood the judge was going to make an example of him - apologized and made reparations to his victim who has publicly forgiven him and asked everyone to please leave it alone - has never done it again. Please explain how this is the same as Milo Yiannopoulous stirring up online hate, causing people to move out of their homes out of fear, saying he'll never apologize again, and announcing his upcoming campus Troll Tour?
31
I don't want to quibble with Penny, either, but it'd be great if she put as much thought and energy into showing the human side of Milo's victims as she did his flunkies.

@29-- In some circles, he's been a name for a while, given that he was one of the big forces driving Gamergate a couple of years back. Nobody outside the gaming community gave a shit then. Of course, if you connect the dots, you'll see that Gamergate eventually formed the backbone of the modern 'alt-right.' So yeah, he's going to be a cultural cockroach we won't be fully rid of for a while.
32
Oh Dan - like all set backs in life, people usually come out bigger and better than before, if that werent the case you wouldn't still be writing your hypocritcal tripe. As a backer of Milo, I can say he will go farther than you or your cute little syndicated column can ever imagine. The smear campaign coming from all sides that negates ever worse comments by the likes of Bill Maher, himself and George Takei will put forth a vengence like you have never seen and he will be bigger and more powerful than your snowflake jedi ensconced in your little box in the PNW. So have fun trying to slam the competition down, as you who claim, "In all fairness to a piece of shit who has never publicly treated another human being with fairness or decency or compassion", but then have publicly ragged on peoples belief systems and their religious leadership (does your article on "the popes red shoes" ring a bell), and then act all high and mighty in agreement. You're an ant preaching from a soap box as many of us in the gay "silent majority" community are concerned and Milo's youthful set back is nothing as you continue age and slowly become less relevant in your own bitterness and obliviousness to the changes that are coming. All your public little ass-kissing-not-ass-kissing piece does is goes to show that you are well aware of that fact and its sad because you have no true convictions anymore.
33
@32 - Damn, you sure trigger easy there cupcake.
34
@32, You got one part right: Time sure does march on!

Pretty soon you'll be struggling to even remember the name of that famous sex advice communist you used to shake your metaphorical cane at -- before you had to use an actual cane and you had more pressing things on your mind, like whether or not you'd manage to roll over in the morning and avoid getting bedsores. Everything little thing will be it's own Cuban Missile Crisis, when you're old and stuck at home because only the 1% will be able to have health care! And, in the meantime, my grade school kids will have grown up, marched in the streets with their own kids (as they did with me), and bent the the bars of society with not just their friends but also almost all the rest of their generation (boy, have you seen all these raucous Town Hall meetings with people upset at their Republican representatives?! And, to think: They all have kids and grandkids...). And, while you and I learned how to be self-centered special snowflakes and broflakes in the schools of the 80s and 90s, with fickleness of interest elevated to the same level of respect as allergies, things are quite different now. Now grit and determination are *literally* part of the curriculum, as are empathy and inter-personal problem solving.

"Fixing the world" by being mean to the already marginalized will be but a blip in the history books, my fellow "Stranger" commenter. You're in the thick of it now, the formation of a chapter of history that will be more written by my kids than you or I, and "here there is no place that does not see you. You must change your life."
35
@30, another difference is that Roman actually committed pedophilia, whereas the Milo guy didn't.
36
I agree with what Savage has to say about Milo, but policing relationships between consenting adults - gay, straight, or bisexual - is a bridge too far. If the concern is the proverbial "power differential" what about between people of different races and classes? Should white people not date or marry people of color? Should wealthy or even middle class people not date or marry working class or poor people? In my view there are basically healthy age gap relationships, like every other kind, and dysfunctional and abusive ones, like every other kind. It's especially distressing that a sex and relationships columnist would willfully plunge down this particular rabbit hole, helping to reinforce stereotypes about "predatory" older adults and nannying people into a pernicious and empty conformity.
37
Fuck that. FUCK THAT. You know who else committed pedophilia and is still celebrated? Woody Allen. His victim never got an apology. How come everyone goes after Roman Polanski and never says shit about Woody Allen? Why isn't anyone here bitching about Bryan Singer, actually named in the Joe Rogan podcast? https://kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/0… Why does anyone even need to compare douchebag Milo Yiannopoulos's online bullying, xenophobic, misogynistic, transphobic assholery to anyone else whatsoever anyway? He's not a pedophile, have we joined the current adminstration in just alt-facting anything we feel like?
38
Milo Yiannopoulos deserved to go down for his loathsome behavior long before this, and for stuff that frankly was worse than this. It's very well written about here https://psmag.com/on-the-milo-bus-with-t….

@31 - is this aimed at me? "I don't want to quibble with Penny, either, but it'd be great if she put as much thought and energy into showing the human side of Milo's victims as she did his flunkies." If it is I don't know what you're talking about. I have loads of sympathy for Milo's victims. None for Milo. I don't think I even mentioned his flunkies. Maybe you're addressing someone else. It's just you wrote right after me and I have Penny in my username. But I don't know what you mean.
39
oh duhh that's what it means by Penny. and now I can't edit or delete the piece above. fine call me a triggered snowflake whatever. The Polanski argument makes me furious and it has absolutely no place in this discussion. Woody Allen is a much better comparison, not least because of how he tried to make Twiggy look stupid in an an interview by asking her about her favorite philosopher and about Dickens, she came out of it okay by saying she read Dickens at school but he was trying to make her dumb, it was a dick superiority move. Trying to find the clip, not finding it right away, giving up and going to bed, too much anxiety and I am indeed being exactly what anyone would describe as an overly sensitive and snowflakey. Farewell all.
40
Agree that Polanski has nothing to do with Milo Yiannopoulos. You said it yourself Idiot Sawant Milo Yiannopoulous is not a pedophile and does not make movies, so shut up about Polanski FFS, it's like listening to Trump ramble on and on about the electoral college.
