If they add another slice of bread, charge a dollar more, and call it a breakfast sandwich, no one's going to blink about paying for it.

It's funny how we commend someone for charging what's necessary to make rent selling street food in Ballard but feign outrage over $6 avocado toast.

Frisee ruins everything.

@3 pfttt. When it's as green as shown in the pic, it will be very bitter. It's supposed to be blanched (grown in the dark for the last 2 weeks) so it becomes yellow before consumption.

I made my own avocado on toast for breakfast the other day. It was ok. Took me about 1 minute to make, not including the time it took to toast the bread. I'm not a chef or a cook. Why would anyone pay for this?

@7 Because trends.

How is this new? When I was a kid I walked out the back door, picked avocados and whatever else was growing and made breakfast. Avocado on toast was a staple. What's next, someone in Seattle is going to "discover" how amazing tomatoes on toast are?

"You know how I know it’s the end of the world? Everything's already been done. Every kind of music’s been tried. Every kind of government’s been tried, every fucking hairstyle, bubble gum flavors, you know, breakfast cereal. What are we going to do? How are we going to make another thousand years? I’m telling you, man, it’s over. We used it all up."
