Is Reichert just a bad guy, or do they have pictures?

Maybe a bit more reliable that SLOG reporters is this website: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members…
3
Of course he did. Taking healthcare from the poor to give tax cuts to the rich, that's a Reichert's wet dream!

#2 - How is govtrack site more reliable than Slog's up-to-date info?

Reichert has now also voted three times to block measures introduced by Dems to force Trump to release his tax returns, twice in the Ways and Means Committee and once on the house floor on a resolution also introduced by a Dem for the same purpose but was ultimately tabled by the Cons.

I was finally able to get thru to Reichert's DC office to leave a voice mail message (meaning his staff finally got around to clearing his stacked up messages), to let him know how pissed off I was at watching his votes on Wed during the Ways and Means Committee's expedited markup of the ACA repeal bill. (Having the luxury of being able to watch several hours of the markup proceedings, I was absolutely appalled at the Cons' condescension throughout. Appalled, but not surprised.) I left a message for Reichert expressing my feelings and questioned why he didn't express such urgency when working on the Green River task force when he was a detective and then sheriff for King County.

I've often wondered how it is that Reichert came to represent Tacoma in DC. Tacoma's local politics are solidly Democratic, and heavily based in blue-collar organized labor. This isn't the kind of water a Republican normally swims in.

I get that catching the Green River Killer is a big deal. Reichert was in that respect a very good investigator. That said, being good at enforcing the law doesn't necessarily make you good at writing it.
9
@ 8, Actually, he largely took credit for another man's work in catching the Green River Killer. He's just an idiot and an asshole.
10
@8 -- Tacoma? He doesn't represent Tacoma. He represents the 8th district, which includes the suburban fringes of Puget Sound (Auburn, Sammamish, Issaquah, Puyallup) as well as the mountainous areas to the east (Cle Elum, Ellensburg, Leavenworth, Wenatchee).

It is still a swing district, though. A good, solid Democrat stands a chance of beating him, especially in a couple years, when I expect a lot of blow back over votes like this. Someone like Inslee, who first represented the fourth (a much more Republican district) would stand a very good chance. Of course Inslee only lasted one term, but I think someone who is willing to knock on a lot of doors and sign up a lot of new (especially Latino) voters could not only win the seat, but keep it. The challenge is finding that candidate.

He's not gonna do what Democrats and Liberals want. Why?, because, they didn't vote for him. If some did vote for him, why? I don't think that people who didn't vote for him. Or live in his District will have any effect on his thought process. If you don't like what he's doing, complaining wont change him. You want to change him? Move to his district and vote him out.
12
Reichert and Ericksen both need to go---preferably via industrial sized garbage bags, to the Koch brothers' next barbecue.
13
I have new respect for Dave. Of course it won't save Freeattleites from high car tabs, high rents, high cost of living, crime, liberal polluters of puget sound and the rat infested internment camps of tax-and-spend liberals. Maybe those injection sites will help pay off that increasing tax debt for transit projects for the poor trucking over to Bellevue while the rest get to drive their BMWs, Lexuses, Audis and Teslas.
14
He's a traitor to the State of Wash. All for him and his fancy job. Stick it to the people who put him there.
15
#9 You hit the nail on the head. He's not the man we sent to represent us.
16
@13: Do Washington State a favor: go back to your slimehole and stay there for the next 20 years--especially if you voted for and continue to support this asshole and his ilk.
17
@15 longwayhome: Neither is Doug Ericksen. Those in his district are petitioning to have his sorry ass recalled, and the very same should be done to Reichert.

Please wait...
