Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputy Fatally Shoots Man in Fife: Police say that after two deputies confronted a man wanted for burglary in the parking lot of a Motel 6, the suspect backed his car into a sheriff's department vehicle and hit an on-foot deputy. When the deputy was "knocked between two cars," two deputies shot the man dead, KING 5 reports.

Seattle Dreamer Will Remain Detained: A federal judge ruled Tuesday that 24-year-old Daniel Ramirez Medina will remain detained for now. But, in a win for Ramirez Medina's lawyers, the judge also ruled that his case can stay in federal court rather than be heard in immigration court, where deportation cases are heard.

No Charges for Officers Who Shot Che Taylor: King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg said officers were justified in their use of force that killed Che Taylor in Lake City last February. Taylor's family, which has argued that Taylor followed police commands during the encounter, is vowing to now file a civil case. "They are sending out a message to our community that even if you comply, you die," Che's brother Andre said.

Seattle Judge Finds FBI, Army Knew Soldier Was Risk Before He Murdered Marysville Couple: "A federal judge in Seattle has issued a remarkable order in a wrongful-death lawsuit stemming from the 2011 murders of a Marysville man and his girlfriend by a renegade group of U.S. soldiers," the Seattle Times reports, "finding the FBI and Army knew the leader of the group “posed a substantial risk” to the public two months before the killings."
