James Beard awards are may 1st, the 50 best restaurants in the world is probably what you are referring to, in which none are in Seattle. the food scene here still lags and with rents continual rise, don't expect new talent, just more of the same players regurgitating ideas from other cities.
I heard for years that Salt and Straw was phenomenal, some of thee best ice cream ever and then I tried it...OH IT IS! Molly Moon, Full Tilt, Bluebird, et.al. - be prepared to up your game. I love you guys and will continue to go to all my local places yet I had to give Salty Straw a nod.
