Little Potato, a short film by Wes Hurley and Nate Miller that premiered at this year's SXSW Film Festival—and won the prize for best Short Documentary—claimed that prize again this weekend at the Sarasota Film Festival. This is a very good start for the short film, which tells the story of Wesley's childhood, his mother's marriages, and their move from Russian to the US. It is not impossible to see all of this end with an Oscar in 2018. The short, which will be screened at SIFF 2017, is that good.
