Still, no one from the DNC will discuss the CONTENT of the leaked emails and the Clinton campaign still can't come to the realization that they lost because they ran a really shitty campaign.
Ugh. I fucking hate Twitter, along with all other antisocial media. They're just platforms for promoting bullying, lies, and hatred, along with cat videos and pictures of your high school friends' kids.
I, for one, am glad that I got to live through the Golden Age of the Internet... that shit was awesome. Once the advertising showed up it all started going downhill. Then came the racists & haters & dick-drawing adolescents. *YAWN*
What to do about it? Well, honestly, I think that the for-profit motive is corrosive. That's why Republicons want to privatize everything (NPR, schools, your mom): Once you have to chase profitability, you are forced to compromise your ideals &/or goals. Profit *becomes* the bottom line, not lofty things like, you know, universal education, or single-payer healthcare, or even just operating ethically (hi Exxon!). You can't operate ethically when you are required to return "shareholder value"... some anonymous bunch of 'stock holders' somehow are more important than doing the right thing. Just look at what's happening to Etsy. They should never have gone public.
Take the profit motive out of: News, Healthcare, Education, and the Internet.
(P.S. If you really want to get into a lengthy discussion of why profit is corrosive, (spoiler: it's due to the mechanism of positive-interest currencies), we can do that, but Slog's prolly not the best place.)
Trump would have won the elections with or without Twitter. Mr Evan Williams is a moron and a living proof that one doesn't need to be intelligent to be a Twitter's CEO.
But that isn't the wall's fault.
But no...let's look at Twitter.....
The problem is Trump, not Twitter.

Let's see what happens then.
